Great performance by Martinez! We all got nervous here in the 12th round but Martinez showed hes a real champion. Excellent fight. Martinez is an excellent representative of the sport and of the middleweight championship.

chavez won't be able to do it the only reason he got sergio was cause sergio was trying to knock him out he could of easily cruise his way an easy decision but he tried to prove a point and nearly paid it off with a 185 pounds guy.

¿Where are the Chavez jr "NUT HUGER'S"? ¿What happened to the supposedly "CASH COW"? This is what happened, for the 1ST TIME IN ALL CHAVEZ JR'S CAREER that he fight's a REAL TOP OF THE LINE TOP 10 FIGHTER & he GOT SCHOOLED!!! ¿& where are the fools that said that Martinez was OLD, ALL HYPE & THAT he DIDN'T FIGHT ANYBODY?Jr had NOTHING on Martinez's skills!! Martinez gave Jr a boxing lesson for 11 rounds & the ONLY time Jr had a chance was when Martinez got careless in the 12th & got caught, but Martinez got up & DIDN'T HOLD(like Jr claims) & started trading with Jr & Jr couldn't finish him..Martinez showed what REAL WORLD CHAMPIONS are made of..& note that Jr outweighed Martinez by a lot(at least 20 pounds) & STILL had nothing on Martinez!!!

YOU just don't know boxing, your too young to understand the ramifications of this fight, this was more than Sergio surgically cutting up Chavez , this was the young Chavez coming out and making his name and dude, HE DID, HE NEVER QUIT like WESS said he would, he took ALL THOSE SHOTS and he NEVER gave up and he came out and had Sergio within ONE SHOT to WIN the most dramatic fight this year.

Boxing is more than just beating on a guy its more its what has the other guy, its what Sergio did to his last opponents and its what he COULD NOT DO THAT he said he would do, but it nearly happened to him.

If Chavez Jr. Would have come in at an even weight, who do you think would have been KTFO? Honestly? I would expect a fighter who threw as few punches as Chavez to have a little gas in the tank at the end. He didn't do much else. He did not look impressive. And it was only dramatic because Sergio nearly gassed himself after throwing 900+ punches and winning every round, even the ones he almost lost he came back and won convincingly. Even at the end, when Chavez was throwing all he had, Martinez got back up and threw right back at him until the end. All this fight showed to me is Martinez did what he said he was going to do. Bust up Chavez Jr's face... and the only reason he didn't knock him out is because Jr. in with a midget stashed in his trunks.
