"oh khan will beat garcia in the rematch" does this sound familiar??
It is a big stretch to say that all fighters want to fight the best. Does Mayweather want to fight Pacquiao or Martinez? I can agree with you on the fact that their commentating is highly biased to the fighter that brings in the money, but you shouldn't hate Khan for that. Khan's fights are at least exciting and he gives it his all, and will fight anyone anywhere, I can't think of many who will do that.

You have to realize at the end of the day boxing is a business. The networks need to build "stars" to make the most money. There are really only a few fighters who bring in big money.
    - Floyd, Pac, Cotto, Chavez, Canelo, and Khan (Klitschko's do ok too).
So my advice would be just to take their comments with a grain of salt.

IMO, HBO tonight was mostly praising Martinez and criticizing Chavez, until the last round where he does deserve respect for almost causing a massive turn around.

      • This fight proved what we already knew, that Martínez is very good, strong an athletic but it also proved that Chávez, with a bit more pressure, can KO his ass easily and Martínez couldn't and can't KO Chávez. Rematch ASAP

I saw when Matinez got knocked down with 4 or 5 shots that Chavez Jr connected.

Yeah he got caught but what a masterful performance, showed some big heart (possibly too much for not holding) and keep going. If all you've got is 30 seconds of success in a 12 round fight to start acting like a kid , then you HBO should fire your a$$ cause you don't know **** about boxing. Truth.

Thats not true at all,if Chavez fights more aggressively he will be open up to more counters by martinez.Martinez fought the last round very badly,he already won the fight, but decided to give the fans a good last round and wanted to fight instead of run.Chavez wanted to fight more aggressively in this fight but he couldn't because martinez was schooling him in all the rounds.

Since when does the ability to KO someone mean anything in boxing, much less warrant a rematch? Geez these guys think boxing is still fought under Prize Ring Rules or something :smh:

I don't agree with that, he made a mistake. It had nothing to do with him not being able to get out of the way. He was in a position where he thought he was safe, and Chavez came with a follow looping right hand. Being tired is why he went down, but he would have gotten hit with the punch either way.

If he would have went back to moving after he got hit with that punch he would have been fine, but he chose to stand and trade which wasn't a good idea after throwing 100 something punches the round before.
