"Most dominant performance to date"?.....I actually feel the opposite in terms of Canelo's performance. I think this was one of his more flawed performances. Lopez was able to hit him too easily, too often IMHO. If Lopez wasn't so out of his depth in terms of size, this fight might of looked a lot different given how cleanly he was able to hit Canelo. Canelo is gifted offensively, but his defense is mediocre at best, which could very well cost him against the top guys. I actually thought his performances against Mosley and Cintron were much better, and much more complete. At least in terms of his defense. I actually started to think he'd improved his defense quite a bit, now it looks like he's backtracked.

Not trying to take the play away from Canelo, but come on, Lopez was two weight classes above where he's best at. Yes, Canelo stopped him as expected and was too strong, but he was getting hit so much, and looked so defensively vulnerable to me. He seriously needs to work on that if he's going to be fighting the likes of Cotto, Trout, Lara, Kirkland, Molina, Bundrage etc. Just my opinion though.

LOL, good analogy. But seeing as how Chavez/Martinez and Canelo/Lopez were on simultaneously, I don't see how people would choose the Canelo fight. Of course, that isn't taking into consideration the fact that most people don't know how to find PPV ******s lol. I had the HBO/Showtime ******s up all night. I even went back and forth between Ponce/Gonzalez and Martinez/Beltran. But as soon as I saw Showtime preview for the main event, I closed it and focused only on the PPV.

Hope ya'll felt dirty for watching the fight lmao

Josesito was no match for Canelo, but that's irrelevant.

Ortiz was up for the shot, and Lopez beat him. He beat the man and deserved to take his place. Josesito earned this ****ing shot, it doesn't matter how you feel about it. To the victor go the spoils, and the winner of Ortiz/Lopez was supposed to be Ortiz and was supposed to fight Canelo, period.
Whatever. FYI, ginger did pick Lopez. Trout was available, K-9, Lara, Molina, the list goes on. But they chose Ortiz who got beat, please.

I thought Canelo looked good, and the power and technique he showed in his punches was excellent. But this was essentially a televised heavy bag session. He needs to get back in the ring with a live opponent ASAP.

Great heart from Lopez. I hope he enjoys the money he made last night.

Really impressed how Alvarez would go to the head and body with those shots. Also impressed by the heart of Lopez to keep on fighting.

I have a lot of respect for Lopez for showing so much heart, Most guys would have preferred not to continue on. Yes he earned his money tonight by receiving a beating. I wish Lopez the best he has heart and nobody can't take that away from him, not like Ortiz.

Canelo looked good Lopez needs to go back down to 147 or 140. Lopez showed a lot of heart some thing that his corner didn't but the ref did. The ref did the right thing stopping this fight.

Lopez deserves more props than canelo just bc he went in way undersized and dropped bombs. A lot of fighters would have came for the payday and left with the check without putting forth a real game effort, but lopez went all out against a much bigger opponent and went out on his shield.
