"Most dominant performance to date"?.....I actually feel the opposite in terms of Canelo's performance. I think this was one of his more flawed performances. Lopez was able to hit him too easily, too often IMHO. If Lopez wasn't so out of his depth in terms of size, this fight might of looked a lot different given how cleanly he was able to hit Canelo. Canelo is gifted offensively, but his defense is mediocre at best, which could very well cost him against the top guys. I actually thought his performances against Mosley and Cintron were much better, and much more complete. At least in terms of his defense. I actually started to think he'd improved his defense quite a bit, now it looks like he's backtracked.
Not trying to take the play away from Canelo, but come on, Lopez was two weight classes above where he's best at. Yes, Canelo stopped him as expected and was too strong, but he was getting hit so much, and looked so defensively vulnerable to me. He seriously needs to work on that if he's going to be fighting the likes of Cotto, Trout, Lara, Kirkland, Molina, Bundrage etc. Just my opinion though.
