i thought beltran did enough to win it. martinez did steal rounds with the more effective shots but it was beltran that landed the more notable shots, imo. great fight overall. props to both men.

Rocky won the fight. You have to score the fight for the whole three minutes and not a few seconds. It is a joke to think there was a robbery, specially when this is on Mex Ind Day and in the backyard of Beltran. The judge with 116-111 should be suspended. What fight he/she watched?

Could have gone either way. I scored it even in rounds, with the point deduction being a difference for me.

I'm pretty sure Diego Magdaleno is going to get a shot at Roman Martinez next.

The decision was fair (116-111 WTF!?) Rocky edged him.

I don't think that anybody can say that Beltran or Mtz won clearly and nobody can claim it was a robbery. It was a very close fight and it could have gone either way by one point (5 points as one judge had it doesn't seem right). Beltran connected the most solid blows rocking Mtz few times but Roman kept busier. Myself had it one point ahead for Beltran but it depends on how one scores round 11 when Beltran was deducted a point after being warned (10-8 or 9-9). I scored 9-9 so got Beltran by one point but if it were a 10-8 then a draw would be the final result. And I think that scoring the fight even would be fair forcing a rematch between both. The point deducted was the difference at the end since as I said on the minds of some judges could have swung not only one but two points against Beltran. Originally this fight was going to be in the WV2-Marquez card and it wasn't for any vacant title. Neither Beltran or Mtz were among the top 5 of the division in the list of the WBO few weeks ago but strangely this fight was upgrade bypassing people who were higher. I think a rematch would be fair.
