It will be awesome to watch, but when one brawler is fresher, has better skills, better defense, and is overwhelmingly confident, it's hard to imagine the other guy winning.

Matthysse is better in every single area.

It will be blood and guts while it lasts though.

This would be a great fight. How famous are these guys in Argentina? Could they do a huge show there?

Maidana Will Destroy His Countryman Fool

There's a reason nobody wants to fight Maidana at 140. Floyd Mayweather had a chance and he opted for Victor Ortiz, who Maidana dismantled in 8 rounds. Rather than take on the winner as every champion does, Mayweather took on the loser of that fight. Robert Guerrero signed to fight Maidana, then claimed injury to his shoulder, cancelled the fight, had surgery, came back calling out everyone in Boxing except for re-scheduling his cancelled fight with Maidana, who was already deep in training. Has shown no interest to reschedule since. Tim Bradley wouldn't fight Maidana when everyone else in Boxing had a dance partner scheduled except for Maidana. JMM wouldn't fight Maidana while he ducked Erik Morales and priced himself too high for a fight with Gesta to come off; Maidana was available. Amir Khan wouldn't give Maidana a rematch after he bit off more than he could chew, most agreeing Maidana beat him in the first fight; Khan what's no part of him again. And Devon Alexander was way too big for Maidana at 147, also fought the fight of his life against the smaller Maidana. Marcos agreed at '47 he wasn't as fast, and didn't feel that good at 147. Nobody wants Maidana at 140. And if the Matthysse thinks he does, leave the shower on; your night will be short. Maidana is a killer at 140.

No one will say no to this fight. I mean really, who would say no to this fight. HBO and Showtime will fight for it.

Matthysee: superior in Every category. Maidana ends up KTFO.

Victor Ortiz had won 5 fights after Maidana, and IMO beat Peterson, which makes it 6 fights. You're talking about a fight that happened 3 years prior to Mayweather-Ortiz. At the same time frame, Maidana had just come off a loss to Khan and a near loss to Morales. And it was 6 rounds.

I want to see this as a huge Lucas fan, but from a career standpoint IDK if he should take it. I want to see him in there with Garcia and even Khan as others have stated. I would be down for a move to 147 against Paulie or Ortiz, which would make for a great fight as well.
