    botha vs pianeta...
this was a decent win for pianeta. botha may be 43 but he comes to fight with the limited arsenal he has left & he is durable. pianeta's last 2 wins may be over a couple of former quality heavyweights but both mccall & botha gave pianeta 10 good rounds of work. they are slow & easy to hit but they know all the tricks in the book. these are very valuable rounds of experience but now he should start looking at some top 10 guys.

98-92 pianeta...pianeta lacks power & botha had little trouble taking his punches. he countered several times following a pianeta flurry. i'm not sure how he will hold up vs a big punching heavyweight. lots of questions unanswered but he has no trouble going 10 rounds so stamina is not an issue. botha hit him several times with lead rights but he was just not busy enough to win the rounds so i gave the rounds to pianeta. i gave botha rounds 1 & 10...the 10th round was stopped with 1:32 left in the round. don't know what happened there...

watching a few alex leapai fights...

leapai throws plenty of haymakers but he is short on skill & is an easy target. he has good power but anyone with a decent defence is going to have little difficulty countering him. a solid journeyman fighter who has been in some good domestic slugfests down under. this guy isn't going to win any world titles.

Pianeta will never be a factor in the HW division. He just isn't that good and Idon't really enjoy seeing him beat badly faded former contenders.

he's just getting rounds in & i'm sure he will be looking into a few bigger fights in europe.

              mariusz wach vs jason gavern

wach is pretty slow but he was able to manhandle gavern & push him around. gavern isn't easy to stop but wach did it in 6. good win for him but i have not seen anything in the fights i've seen that would give him any chance of beating klitschko. he has power & size but not much else.
