21-22 Year Old Fernando Vargas. How would he have done in today's 154?

Just looking back at the career of Vargas. At age 21-22, he was beating Ike Quartey, Winky Wright, and Raul Marquez. He gave a very good effort against Trinidad as well.

I watched all 4 fights, it was pretty amazing how some 21 year old could do what he did. If you think about the quality of opposition 21 year old Canelo was fighting and who Chavez Jr was fighting at 21-22, there's no comparison. I admit he was rushed too fast though.

But how well could the Vargas of the Marquez,Wright,Quarter,Trinidad fights do against today's top 154?

    Canelo
    Cotto
    Trout
    Kirkland
    Molina
    Lara
    Vanes Martirosyan
    Cornelius Bundrage
    Cory Spinks
    Gabriel Rosado
Victor Ortiz (147-154, say Ortiz carries his skills up to 154)

I honestly see him knocking out most of them and beating everyone other then maybe Cotto.

Beats them all most by K.O, I think Lara & Trout would have the best chance of beating him but I'd give Vargas the edge.

Kirkland would get blasted probably in the 1st
Molina likely goes in survival mode & makes a real stinker out of it.
Ortiz would quit at the staredown
Vanes, Bundrage, Cory Spinks, get destroyed! Ripped apart.
Canelo, Cotto get stopped late on.
Gabriel Rosado gives a good account of himself in a FOTY type fight.

Canelo would be a toss up. Cotto KO him late.
Ortiz has the skill to beat him early but knowing Vargas heart he gets up from 2-3 knock downs and comes back to KO him late
Omg! Lmfao at u guys talk about hype! Lara really? Based on what a fooken
KO of Ronald fooken hearnS? Really? Haha

great question, ive often wondered about vargas in todays 154 division but get upset over the fact that he was rushed to soon. Wouldve loved to see him against Angulo and Lara out of all those listed

Why isn't the 154 Lb. champ mayweather on that list? Anyhow... He beats most of them and he'd prob have a belt, but not everyone... Trout, Cotto and May would beat him IMO.
