No, is because he is avoiding him, he has say every excuse u can imagine... And you guys are supporting his $h1t, nobody knew who Mathebula was, Nishioka is an old fart that his best wins are a past prime Marquez and a young glass jaw Gonzalez, Rigondeaux is the best fighter at 122 and that's the reason he is avoiding him, of course he is not along because I don't c any elite 122 trying to get Rigondeaux belt.
PS. Mares is GBP so please don't give that $h1t that Arum and DLH are going to work together to make that fight happen.Comment

Why didn't Rigo fight Mathebula then, to unify a couple of belts? If Nishioka is such an old fart why didn't Rigondeaux fight him to prove he is the #1 guy in the division?
Nonito is on the road to having fought ALL of these guys yet you have the gall to say that he is avoiding. Unbelievable.
I guess the only way Donaire would earn your respect is by fighting the Rico Ramos' of the world instead. Or maybe you would finally be impressed if he beat Ricardo Cordoba by split decision.Comment

You make it sound like Rigo can pick and choose anyone he wants to fight at any time. For starters, the guy only has ten professional fights under his belt. How many boxers with that many fights do you think can choose their opponents? And something else, Ramos was a champ when Guillermo fought him. Rigondeaux was Rico's mandatory defense. It's not like Rigo is running around cherry-picking the softest touches out there.
I like Nonito, and I think he genuinely wants to fight the best out there; but the truth is that his promoters don't share the same sentiment. Top Rank (both Donaire and Rigondeaux's promoter) wants to protect their next potential superstar. And I can assure you, in their minds, Guillermo ain't it.Comment

How is it protecting Nonito if he fights Nishioka and Mares/Moreno? If you ask me the one getting protected by fighting easy matches is Rigo.

5ft3 112lb Omar Narvaez who had never even fought at 118 before!

Mathebula who with all due respect to is probably the worst world champion in history & he gave him hell!
I will give him credit should he beat Nishioka but lets not go on as if he isn't 36 and on the decline.
I hope you realise Rigondeaux has broken records with his opposition, he has fought against opponents with winning records & the highest win-to-loss ratio ever.

It's relative. If Donaire loses to Nishioka, for instance, there's some measure of compensation. If Nonito loses to Rigo, he looks like a pretender who lost to a ten fight semi-amateur. Arum himself has gone on record stating that Donaire has to lose to someone some time. They would just rather that it not be Rigondeaux. It's become cliché, but Guillermo is simply viewed as "too much risk, too little reward."
Some fans might be in denial, but some others are quite naïve in believing that a fighter with no name and ten fights gets to choose whoever he wants to fight.Comment
