Pirog is alot better than what people give him credit for, although I would agree that Martinez wins a hard fought battle by KO. I do agree that Martinez made a bad decision not fighting Pirog, for it would have increased his purse minimum by earning 1.5 mill.

I keep trying to convince myself that Chavez's body attack is going to wear down the older Martinez and maybe force a late stoppage, however, Chavez doesn't even know how to use the damn jab to get in close on the inside! Martinez is too fast and elusive, the only way Chavez wins is to pressure(Margarito style, like when he fought Cotto 1) and cut the off the ring effectively with punches in bunches to the body. Oh yeah, and Chavez must not get caught with the blinding fast straight left or good night like the punisher(no disrespect to Williams).

Idk bout that. Hes been cashing in for a while imo. He signed chavez jr just for the name and when he did events, those actually did pretty decent in mexico fighting nobodies. What chavez is doing now is a big bonus for arum. Totally unexpected but welcomed. Making even more money off chavez now.

he's making money off of him now, no doubt. but the beginning of the career of a fighter like that is a multi year process that costs the promotor a lot of money.

additionally, a fight like this one costs a ton of money to promote. you need a venue, a network / ppv, you have to give these fighters their big guarantees, etc.
they've got every right to make as much money as they can.

those are good sized purses for fighters who dont speak much english and have never had a big ppv stage like this one.

I watched 24/7 after the Ward fight Saturday night and I can't believe no one has been talking about it. Junior sleeps all day gets up at 6pm constantly shows up late at the gym and was even standing Roach up. Roach was talking about how Junior is always late and they moved his training to Vegas to break bad habits and it has not worked. Junior was also calling and telling Roach that he didn't want to train that day.

Senior was watching tapes of Sergio and Junior was no where to be found. Actually he was still in bed at 6pm. And his father was relaying to him what he had watch as Junior is wandering around in his underwear munching on a bowl of cereal. As Senior was sucking on a cigarette as he is talking to his son. I really could not believe the 5hit was real. It was really unprofessional and I no longer have to wonder how Junior got a DWI just weeks before his fight with Lee.

Meanwhile in Sergio's camp he is getting up at 4am to start his day of training. And that is all I believe I need to say about Sergio's camp and I hope he seriously tears Junior a new one next weekend.
