This isn't too bad. If I remember correctly, Cotto and Margarito got the same deal in their first fight. However, since that PPV did 500k, Cotto ended up taking about $7 mill and Margarito ended taking about $3 mill... I reckon this fight will do the same numbers.

As far as I know Martinez has been making about a mil per fight since P Will. Not bad considering his promotion. I think him and Ward are underpaid for their skills but its not like theyre making chump change. Ward made less than a mil vs Froch if i recall.

Still...why do people act like hes out for a pay day and Chavez Jr acting like he gets 20 mil per fight lol. 3 Mil is some nice change for someone who hasnt fully paid his dues though cant hate on that. If youre pulling in a mil or over and arent the marquee name in your sport, youre doing good. Not everyone gets Floyd or Oscar money.

This comes as a bit of a shocker to me, i thought martinez at least would get a 50/50 split. being that he has the better resume. Boxing is a crude sport.

It's a business brother, hate it or love it more people are watching because of JCC Jr than Sergio. Skills or not Junior is bringing money to the table, and it gets Sergio more exposed to other potential fans. 1.4 +PPV is good money...

Around the same amount percentage wise than Ward/Dawson. Aprox 70/30 for fights sanctioned under WBC for the champion, 70, and the challenger 30. Considering they might generate $35 to $40 Mill for this fight, they can make over 5 more for Jr, over 2 more for Serg. Pretty good for Sergios limited fan base.

I watched 24/7 after the Ward fight Saturday night and I can't believe no one has been talking about it. Junior sleeps all day gets up at 6pm constantly shows up late at the gym and was even standing Roach up. Roach was talking about how Junior is always late and they moved his training to Vegas to break bad habits and it has not worked. Junior was also calling and telling Roach that he didn't want to train that day.

Senior was watching tapes of Sergio and Junior was no where to be found. Actually he was still in bed at 6pm. And his father was relaying to him what he had watch as Junior is wandering around in his underwear munching on a bowl of cereal. As Senior was sucking on a cigarette as he is talking to his son. I really could not believe the 5hit was real. It was really unprofessional and I no longer have to wonder how Junior got a DWI just weeks before his fight with Lee.

Meanwhile in Sergio's camp he is getting up at 4am to start his day of training. And that is all I believe I need to say about Sergio's camp and I hope he seriously tears Junior a new one next weekend.
