I'm starting to favour Haye in this match up and I dont want him to retire until that fight is done so we can see the outcome and not have to fantasy guess it for years to come.
Be sure nobody will be talking about this fight (or Haye) in one year time if Vitali retire.
Haye is not HOF.. And nobody needs to fantasy about it either. Sometimes people talk about the various match-ups but it's always prime for prime. Nobody talks about 40-year old Lennox against 35-year old Ali...

Subscribe to this thread and if the fight doesnt happen then come back and check my prediction....if he doesnt fight Haye, people will say he ducked him and Haye forced him into retirement.
I'm not saying I agree with that, but I bet that people will say it.

I would rather they just fight and then every chapter is closed for Vitali. He could retire now without Haye, but he will get abuse for it...check Calzaghe.

        /thread...

Seriously I think he should fight Haye and be done. If he loses there's going to be a sea of damage control excuses, if he wins his legacy rises even more so there's not much to lose at this point.

Vitali has regressed significantly in the last couple of years and on saturday he looked painfully slow. Of course he easily dismantled an opponent who was little more than a barroom brawler.

He is still in great training but it's impossible to beat father time. Yes I think it is time to retire.

I think Vitali has earned the right to do what he wants and I wont complain if he hangs them up. However, he doesn't have that one significant victory and David Haye would be that. Even if Haye isn't a natural heavy, he's still the most talented one there is. Yes, Vitali is slowing but he still holds a huge size advantage while Haye holds a huge speed advantage....it would be good.
I don't think Haye would be a significant victory. There's noone out there besides Wlad.

If he retires, Haye will never shut up about it. May as silence him before leaving the fight game.
Just show Haye a pic of a swollen pinky toe. That should be enough to shut him up.

Haye doesnt have a champion's heart. Champions want to avenge their losses.
I agree. I used to like Haye, he was bringing excitement to the HW division but picking on the older brother instead of trying to avenge his loss specially after that whole toe controversy he created, it's really a **** move. HW boxing is dead . Not enough talent, size matters the most and among giants the K bros are the better current ones, which is still not good enough for me to be pleased watching. Jab jab right hand. Only the "jab" hits like the kitchen sink and the right hand like a school bus.

Haye had his chance against Vitali in 2009, he refused and fought the slow Valuev. Now Vitali is 41 and maybe 42 if they fight in 2013 and haye say he is ready!
Yes, champion facing the best contenders is boxing.
But contenders waiting years for the decline of the champion in order to face him isn't boxing, it's cowardice.
I have no problem with Vitali retiring now at 41, after all he made 2 mandatory defenses last year.

And before the Wlad fight, Haye said he wanted to face Wlad 'cause people would criticized him if if choosed to fight the older one.
