I like this poll. 100% voted for Matthysse. Is Garcia's big talking father brave enough to take this fight? If Garcia is a fighting champion he will take this fight next. I would respect him for taking the fight but I am pretty sure Garcia would be KOed. I think Marquez and Pacquiao are the only guys that have a chance to beat him at 140. He will KO all the others at 140 including Bradley in my opinion. Matthysse is the true 140 pound champ to me.

That would be a war! Both guys throwing bombs for 12 rounds or less. Garcia is faster but Matthysse's punches are straighter and more accurate. As of right now I got Matthysse by decision or late stoppage.

I think you are right. Golden Boy says they are all about putting the best in with the best and whatever happens, so be it. They are lying.

I think Garcia would use the Khan gameplan for Mattyhsse stay back time his shots counter punch Mattyhsse tends to throw wide punches at times.Garcia defense is suspect Matthysse would land lots of power punches hurting Garcia in a close Mattyhsse wins by UD

This would eventually turn into a fire-fight where Garcia's timing and counter-punching should be able to save him. However, I think Matt stops him in the 10th. Garcia is gonna have to move a lot and set everything up from the jab, and slowly but surely, Matthysse's determination/pressure will overwhelm him. Garcia's high guard defensive posture (when he's getting prepared to parry shots) is extremely susceptible to body shots, and Matt's throws a good left hook to the body.

This is the best match-up that can be made @140 right now, other than Matt vs. the winner of Rios/Alvarado.

He becomes THE man at 140lb IMO. Lucas has been steadily improving, as well as Garcia. Plus, both guys come in the ring determined and can remain composed. I think that their styles mesh well, but Lucas has the advantage. He's the harder puncher and more durable. I classify Garcia as a "counter-****er", he enjoys going to war, and if he doesn't remain disciplined, he will wind up hitting the canvas. You cannot play the tit-for-tat game with Matthysse, and expect to hear the last bell.
