    The weird Alvarez resume hate.

Why do we forget that he was signed to fight Paul Williams....and Kirkland?

Like another poster said when you sign to fight Williams you have pretty much exhausted your options.

So I dont get it? Those 2 fights didnt happen and that wasnt Sauls fault at all.

And he's fighting a junior welterweight now. He could have tried to fight Andre Ward for all I care, it doesn't make it right that he's YET AGAIN fighting for a junior middleweight title against someone who isn't a junior middleweight.

    He deserves to be criticized.

He gets hate for fighting smaller guys really

I ain't a fan nor do I hate him, from what I have seen, he is a knock out waiting to happen, he is way too open and does not at the moment have enough pop like say Pac does to NOT get taken advantage of his lazy defence

He would get knocked out by kirkland at 154 most likely, if he survives the first 6-8 rounds (he will get floored) then maybe he can get a late decision or ko himself as Kirkland has ****e stamina

he could've still fought someone at 154 though, except if he's weight drained, old and shot coming down from 160 then yes maybe its acceptable to fight Lopez..
its okay that he'll get criticize now, he's still a rising star, i know he's got what takes to be on top...

that alvarez is fightint smaller men is worthy of criticism, but there's no way in hell he gets stopped in six or seven rounds by jim kirkland.

This issue has been addressed countless times.

In summary, HBO commentary was asking for Williams to retire before the Ishida fight. Williams didn't look to good in his last few fights. Granted it was a step up in competition, I still think he could've fought a Top 5 JMW. I think Williams was #6 or #7.

Then he tried to fight an injured Kirkland. Kirkland stated he was injured after the Molina fight and would need time to heal. Why didn't Team Canelo try to fight Kirkland after the Angulo fight when Kirkland was his mandatory instead of waiting until it was publicly known that the man is hurt to try to get a fight? That's transparent if you ask me. That's like guys in the club that are quiet when someone's in their face ready to fight, but as soon as someone breaks it up, they go crazy yelling "Hold me back, hold me back".

Lastly, let's do some simple arithmatic:

Not fighting Williams/injured Kirkland doesn't = Fight WW and JWW.

Not fighting Williams/injured Kirkland = Fight Lara, Trout, Vanes or wait for Kirkland to recover. Simple math here.

Not to mention, before all this unravelled, Canelo was fighting Mosley, Cintron, Hatton/Cotto's brother.

He deserves every bit of hate he's getting.

I guess there wasn't anyone else at 154 to fight right?
