What makes this fight any different to De La Hoya vs Pacquiao?

De La Hoya didn't fight at 147 for 7 years

Pacquiao moved up 2 weights (3 weights in a year) to take the fight, Ward stayed didn't move at all.

Dawson actually looked good physically tonight... He displayed his usual speed on offense and defense and was the physically stronger fighter (look at the clinches... Ward's back usually ends up closer to the ropes); the only aspect that could be attributed to the weight is his low output, but I'm not convinced that that played more of a part than Ward's tactics (his angles and movement)
De La Hoya against Pacquiao looked like ****; just a slow, malnourished zombie version of De La Hoya.
Disturbing to see how people convince themselves that they saw something that didn't actually happen.
Chad's weight didn't effect his performance Ward did. Dawson would've beaten a host of top Super Middleweights at 168 tonight. Ward is just too smart, skilled, and mentally strong; after he found that he got the knockdown and knew he could land the left hook clean, it was Enough of a confidence boost (for the already mentally stronger Ward) to control the range, pace, and dominate the rest of the fight.

they were both drained. but there's a lot of difference on regards to whom you may give greater credit. IMO Oscar was more drained plus shot plus old even before the pac fight.. Oscar was the favorite though. these two fights have different ingredients..
pac moved up two weight divisions, and that is something to hype up..
while ward was at his comfort zone..
the pac-dlh result was an upset..
i give pac just a little little credit for beating Odlh above ward for beating dawson for those reasons..im not convincing anybody but just imo.
im sure the result would've been different at 175..ward could still win it though.
