But didn't pac weigh more on fight night? I don't get this pac jumped in weight divisions thing when he had been weighing more than his opponents on fight night for a bit, even morales. It would be like if broner beat guerrero at 147(which he would), even though the fight should be at 140, but it wouldn't matter.
What makes this fight any different to De La Hoya vs Pacquiao?

So you think that the weight draining doesn't affect his punch resistance?Dawson actually looked good physically tonight... He displayed his usual speed on offense and defense and was the physically stronger fighter (look at the clinches... Ward's back usually ends up closer to the ropes); the only aspect that could be attributed to the weight is his low output, but I'm not convinced that that played more of a part than Ward's tactics (his angles and movement)
De La Hoya against Pacquiao looked like ****; just a slow, malnourished zombie version of De La Hoya.
Disturbing to see how people convince themselves that they saw something that didn't actually happen.
Chad's weight didn't effect his performance Ward did. Dawson would've beaten a host of top Super Middleweights at 168 tonight. Ward is just too smart, skilled, and mentally strong; after he found that he got the knockdown and knew he could land the left hook clean, it was Enough of a confidence boost (for the already mentally stronger Ward) to control the range, pace, and dominate the rest of the fight.Comment

Source? Something credible pleaseDo you follow boxing bro ? Difference is THE REHYDRATION CLAUSE AKA mannys wepon of mass destruction. de la hoya fought manny at 145 and was only allowed to rehydrate an entire 2 pounds to 147. dawson at least was able to rehydrate to 185 which was like 17 pounds. Overall i would say thats a big difference, manny had a rehydration clause and ward didntComment

Could have... Personally, I think that it didn't have an abnormal effect on Chad though.
Chad has a solid defense so it isn't exposed to often, but he does not react well to getting hit clean (look at his reactions the few times he got hit against Pascal and those were single shots). Ward landed his left hooks clean while on his front foot moving forward and Chad getting low (giving Ward added leverage) did not see them coming... A great scenario for a KD or someone getting hurt.
Dawson's never been hit as constantly and consistently in his entire career. Ward was landing 2-3 shots at times and that last KD was an accumulation of 6-7 ****s in a row that made him take a knee. Ward's accuracy was just terrrible for him.Comment

What makes this different?
Did you not follow boxing back then?
Pac came up from 135 by 2 weight divisions while oscar came down 1
It was fair, had pac been a 147 fighter at the time and the fight took place at 147 with Oscar coming down, then it would have been unfair
Oscar fought a lightweight at 147 and lost, it was fair. It was not :Pacs fault, that oscar ****ed him up his training campComment

Chad Dawson Walking around weight
" I walk around at about 185 pounds"
" I could easily get down to 168 if there was opportunity for me there."

What makes it different? De La Hoya moved down 7 lbs in contractual weight but actually cut down 12 to unnecessarily get down to 142. What also makes it different is that he dieted for so long that his stomach shrunk and he didn't gain the weight back and still came in with a fight night weight of under 147. Chad Dawson rehydrated to over 180+lbs.Comment

Dawson has routinely been hurt by many fighters in the course of his career. He is not one that is noted for his chin. Andre ward was by far the better man, and he hits harder that you would like to believe.Comment

Most of his s6 opponents have been hard chinned, but even Miranda and Green looked a lot more stout than DawsonComment
