Either Ward is gonna prove actually how good he is.

Or chad is gonna prove everyone he's better than people thought.

If he wins, its huge. Beating hopkins and ward in a row, well that's an achievement

Then I will personally consider the Pascal fight some strange, ridiculous, incomprehensible fluke and have Chad in my personal p4p top 5.

Seriously, if Dawson were to dominate Ward, that would be one of the best wins in recent memory.

Well if he beats Ward, he goes up to top 5 regardless of how he does it, and he wins Fighter of the Year in my eyes [clearly beating Bernard Hopkins and Andre Ward in the same year?]. He also gets in position to pick who ever he wants, like Froch, Kessler, Abraham, Dirrell. The cherry on top is, who was the last fighter to be The Ring Champion in two weight classes at the same time?

Dominating or stopping Ward? That just adds much more hype to the win, and maybe even have the 168 division shook about fighting him. Also, a lot of speculation would start, about who would have won between the other fast, tall, southpaw, Andre Dirrell and Andre Ward had they fought in the Super 6. To me, Andre Ward's resume or career does not take a hit. You just don't erase an Olympic Gold medal, Super 6 trophy, and that really good resume because of one loss. That's as ****** as disregarding Dawson's wins against Adamek, Tarver, Johnson, Diaconu going in to the Hopkins fight, just because Dawson lost to Pascal.

A stoppage is unlikely though. Ward has never been stopped, and Dawson hasn't stopped anybody in years. A dominating win is realistic.

Oh but it does. The dude came down from 175 and beat him in his OWN backyard.

It would be more about Dawson fulfilling his talent than anything to do with Ward. Can't knock Andre for that. Dawson is an extremely talented fighter, always has been, and the only thing that has kept him from being one of the best in the sport is his intangibles.

I think the one resume or career that wouldn't really take a hit is Dawson's.

As a fan of Ward, Mayweather, Sergio, Marquez, etc., I find a LOT of merit with this argument.

I'm still not sure what Juan Manuel Marquez has to do to gain the respect and accolades he deserves. Bottom line is he fought 3 nail-biting fights with Manny, and IMO Marquez won AT LEAST 2.
