Welterweight contender Thomas Dulorme (16-0, 12KOs) is now getting prepared for his HBO televised debut on October 27th.

According to Dulorme's trainer, Jose Bonilla, HBO is pushing for a fight against veteran Argentine slugger Luis Carlos Abregu, who only lost a single fight, by decision, to current WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley.

Yeah Abregu is fun, but I don't think Bonilla is right about him being durable.

He's a prospect, what is the rush? Let him fight Casal, and put Dulorme/Abregu on the Cotto/Trout undercard.

Dulorme is a JWW, I dont know why he dont fight at 140.

Anyways, apparently HBO is offering peanuts for Dulorme to face Abregu wich is very high risk.

HBO should stop giving dates to fighters before agreeing on an opponent with them.

If a prospect is still at the stage where he wants easier fights then don't put him on TV until he's ready for a challenge.

Wait a ****ing minute here?? Did Dulorme's people basically say they would prefer to cherrypick Casal?? Did they really say that Abregu is a very big, strong fighter who can take blows. Did those guys really just insinuate that they would have been better off with Casal.

Sure. Go ahead & give back that #1 ranking & go beat up on tomato cans then. What the hell did I just read?? We already have ginger strolling around no need for yet another over hyped unproven tomato can crusher.

HBO is doing wat there supposed to be doing buying good fights. if dulorme wants to fight on the biggest network in boxing he has to fight a good opponent.

the cheek of team dulorme asking for more money to fight abregu, they havent earned it yet maybe if they beat him then they can get big money.

good on hbo for not buying that thrash fight with casal, thats an espn fnf fight not a hbo fight

clegg, u are completely right. They always do it, and it makes no sense. I can understand it somewhat if it's a fighter like Sergio Martinez or Nonito Donaie, although Im notr even in favor of it with fighters of that caliber. But Dulorme? he should only be fightin on HBO if hes taking a risky fight, like Abregu. Casal is not a test. I really hate it when u go into a fight knowing who is going to win. so far, the last 2-3 fights for Broner have been that way too.
