I don't have a problem with Geale getting a payday in Oz before getting KO'd by Golovkin, but this nonsense about Soliman deserving it because he won two eliminators is silly. He won two eliminators against two designated losers - one a guy who had just lost to Geale and Lorenzo, who has lost FIVE title shots or eliminators in the past four years. The IBF set Soliman up in fights he simply wasn't going to lose. Good for him. He's 38 and has always been a tough fighter, and it is nice he gets a good payday. But it wasn't like he beat top fighters to earn his mandatory

Great point. I'm pretty sure Geale is gonna get backed into a corner and when push comes to shove, he'll drop the WBA and keep the IBF. On average, the IBF rankings are easier to handle. Simply put, Geale will go out like a B.I.T.C.H.Soliman only became the IBF mandatory 2 weeks ago and don't you usually have 9 months, or at least 6? WBA ordered their fight happen by december so there is no reason Geale can't or shouldn't fight Golovkin first. The only reason he wouldn't is if he expects to lose and gives up the WBA belt to duck Golovkin. Simple as that.
Of course, I hope I'm wrong lolComment

Geale is headed to the US to be at ringside for the Martinez vs Chavez Jr bout, to try to drum up interest for a big fight over there. If he isn't able to get any deal signed with one of the big guys then he'll most likely take the Soliman fight, & keep looking after that.
It's up to HBO if they want to put the money on the table & a date for Geale vs Golovkin or vs the winner of Martinez-Chavez Jr.
While it's pretty clear Golovkin is willing to fight anyone anywhere, & Geale obviously has no problem fighting in his opponents backyard, HBO's history in such situations is not good, & there's a good chance we hear lots of talk without anything actually being put on the table, while they go ahead with guys they already have multi-fight deals with.
If Geale can't get them to actually put a real date on the table, he might be better headed to the UK after Soliman & fighting any of the trio of good middle's there, which would likely be good money & a good fight.
Personally think staying busy in good fights is the most important thing for Geale at this stage, & keeping himself in the public eye.
He can't allow himself to be stuck waiting for HBO to come up with a big date (or pretty much what happened to Pirog).Comment
