Very good hands and foot work another excellant athlete who became a pro boxer! Fought some very good fights and a few not so good. His ego got in the way when his prime was gone and fought when he couldn't use his experience to get over.
A very good boxer who's best years were as a Lt Heavy NOT a heavy.
............A LEGEND??? Maybe in his mind and his fanatics but in the history of boxing NOT a legend, a good boxer with speed to burn and very genetics as to his conditioning and athletic ability. As a Lt. Heavy champ can you imagine him in with Evander, Holyfield would need track shoes to make it a fight! I like Roy, he did well as an amatuer and as a pro but this legend and P4P crap goes way overboard here. Study some history of the sport and read up on methods and techniques and longevity then look at the era and if the fighter could exsist in any era and be at the top of the charts!! Just because you weren't born then doesn't discount the era's of the past. Roy is a Hall of Fame boxer but he is not a legend in the sport he might be a legend in HIS fans eyes or a top notch boxer in his era but he may fall shorter in the big picture. I rate him high but for me he's not an all time great, thats just used to often these days! Ray.
