after watching GGG's excellent performance last night, I began to wonder how many exciting fights HBO has denied the common fan to promote their biased interests.


HBO rarely ever showcases young exciting foreign fighters, instead we've been fed slop fights like the majority of Andre Berto, Jermaine Taylor, and Chad Dawson's opposition.

why did HBO execs say Wladimir & Vitali wouldn't be showcased on their network because viewers couldn't tell them apart?

a couple years ago this fight would have never been on HBO. Keep in mind Ken Hershman is now the top guy at HBO (used to be with showtime) and he's obviously willing to get these types of fights. HBO isn't the same as it once was with Hershamn.

excellent thread. when I saw Golovkin vs Proksa on HBO, I thought to myself "finally HBO has arrived- they show a fight of a Pole against a Russian".
cause thats what is right. I dont wanna see 2 non deserving guys on HBO. I wanna see 2 guys who deserve to be where they are. Golovkin and Proksa deserved to be on HBO and so many american fighters dont deserve it. maybe we will see more foreign fighters on HBO. I'd love to see Pirog on HBO again for example.
The Klitschko fights should have been on HBO as well, or a David Haye fight for example

Let's go with the bold. Rios wasnt sent to Showtime. Arum took him there. Why HBO dont show Klits fight? Aint obvious? They are not exiting. They cant sell on US television. And I bet the K's charge a lot of money to have their fights broadcast on this side. Cotto vs Margarito had no story. Neither guy was a star. They werent able to sell anything with it.
