Not to mention Hopkins was 47 years old. Still a great fighter but far from his prime. Not to mention it was a bit of a robbery seeing as Calzaghe did zero damage and barley landed at all. He just moved his hands a lot much like what happened with that manfredo stoppage. There should have been a rematch for sure.

I had heard about this interview, but I always thought it was made up. What fighter in their right mind would admit to such a thing?
Roy Jones=Big Money. He should have gone for it.

The only thing wrong with the Calzaghe-Hopkins fight was the fact that it wasn't scored a unanimous decision for Joe. He won easy and if Bhop didn't take his little breaks Joe may have even stopped him with his so called slaps.

he couldn't hit hopkins. hopkins could hit him. stop trying to deflect attention and actually score using the rules of boxing. did calzaghe win clean punching? no. did calzaghe win defense? no. did calzaghe win effective aggression? no. how did he win then? because you can't score for sh-it! how can a guy walking into punches and hitting air win a boxing match? trying hard isn't a scoring criteria. hopkins holding isn't a scoring criteria. i guess maidana beat alexander?

I have watched the fight several times and guess what? Joe has won each time. And you really should get over it and move on. Because it is not healthy to hang on to all that anger. And I can't imagine what you will do when Joe goes into the Hall of Fame in the near future?

Cortez refereed that fight completely different to his previous one allowing the exhausted home fighter to hang on and spoil. Still, JC got he job done despite all the disadvantages.

Daggum, it's really about time you started appreciating the legendary legend-killer Joe Calzaghe - an unbeaten clean champion.

After all, no one on here talks about him more than yourself.

Calslappy fans always have the official decision to fall back on and it's true he did win. But history sees him for what he was and nothing can change that. Hopkins was 1 fight. Calzaghe had a gift of having hands so fast judges can't tell if he's landing or not. Not to mention great stamina to keep the swatting going for 12. We have the benefit of slow motion. Nobody is under any illusion Joe did any damage to Hopkins and everyone knows he wasn't half the fighter. End of story.

He deserves it and he did have some talent but anyone who can't admit the guy fought hand picked opponents Most of his career and received many gifts and hometown stoppages is delusional. I've seen guys on here not even able to admit the guy was a slapper. Talk about denial jeez.
