I read that Rahman benched 500lbs, even Mosley maxed out at 350, and Vic Darchinyan maxed out at 275.

The thing about bodybuilders is that they lift mainly for size, they're huge but pretty weak because they're constantly lifting. Tons and tons of guys in NCAA football, 19 and 20 year olds, can bench over 400-600 because they lift for strength.
Mosley has lifted 350? That's impressive. Of course, Ol' Shane was probably juiced to the gills when he recorded that lift.

I agree with you on Tyson's potential bench. I would guess the same thing: anywhere between 400 and 500 lbs....probably in the high 400s. It's tough to tell based on looks and size alone (as you point out with bodybuilders), but I've known guys that could bench 405 and were significantly smaller than Mike.

But football players train differently then boxers. Boxers usually don't train with weights football players do. Thats why I don't think Tyson's bench is in the 400's, unless he did lift.

Tyson trained under D'Amato. An old school guy like Cus probably frowned upon weightlifting. I don't know if Mike actually lifted when he was fighting. I only know the story of him lifting as a teenager. Post-boxing Tyson lifted (or still lifts). I've seen footage. I've even heard him say that he goes to the gym (and lifts) because he's "vain."

Tomlinson's strength doesn't surprise me in the least. Most NFL running backs are strong as hell. But why should Tyson lift so much more (if any) than LT? LaDainian is about the same size, and football players spend half their lives in the gym under professional supervision.

Holyfield used to do 360x10 back in 89, i'd bet anything that Tyson could do more.

Because lifting weights means you can fight and are a bad ass, therefore I reckon Tyson could easily push 500lbs

Lifting alot is irrelevant in terms of punching power imho. Sometimes guys who can lift can punch hard, other times not so much. I believe SSM max was 300pounds or 136kg. I remember because when i used to bench press regularly (two times a week) my max was 140kg or 310 pounds and i weighed around 195-200 pounds, and i obvioulsly thought it was ridiculous a 147-154 pounder was benching 136kg. I wasn't on roids though, or even supplements for that matter. Incidentally i'm heavy handed in both hands and have always been even when i first put gloves on and hit a heavy bag when technique needed refinement.

Tyson would bench quite alot imho. Shorter guys are always better power lifters and on bench press.

A great test of muscular strength and endurance is benching 75% of your bodyweight for 30 or more reps.

i weigh 165 and i bench 245 10 reps after my 10 reps of 225 warming up with 10 reps of 165.....so mikes numbers seem quite low....
