    Wladimir and Tysons bench press

Ive been looking around for these facts. And it looks like Wlad can actully bench 395 4 times and 275 20 times....very impressive. On a good day at the gym I get 210 once

Tyson has been the hard one to find. I heard the storys of him hustleing people when he was 12 or 13 making bets if he could bench 200 pounds and would. So what could a 1987 or 1997 Tyson really bench...I kept seeing crazy answers like 480 and 550. Im sure Mike can lift alot, but pro bodybuliders would have a time getting 550

Anyone got a relaible souce of Mikes bench?

I'm going from memory here (I have the book in storage somewhere). As I recall, Peter Heller wrote in "Bad Intentions: The Mike Tyson Story" that Mike benched 225 ten times when he was fifteen. Supposedly, Tyson had never lifted weights before.

I'm not sure I buy that story, but I certainly believe that Tyson is a strong bastard. I wouldn't doubt if he could bench 400 for reps as an adult, if he's been training. (Sorry I don't have any hard facts for you.)

Wlad's numbers are pretty impressive. He's a big dude, and he looks like he trains with weights. I'm not surprised at his lifts in the bench.

I wouldn't be surprised if he benched close to 500. Those short arms, powerful back and abdomen all contribute to the bench press, and mike was huge.

I read that Rahman benched 500lbs, even Mosley maxed out at 350, and Vic Darchinyan maxed out at 275.

The thing about bodybuilders is that they lift mainly for size, they're huge but pretty weak because they're constantly lifting. Tons and tons of guys in NCAA football, 19 and 20 year olds, can bench over 400-600 because they lift for strength.

A 315 maximum bench for a guy like Tyson is pretty easy. He could probably rep out with that weight. I know he likes to lift, or used to.

LaDainian Tomlinson's max is around 430 so Tyson being able to bench somewhere in the 480-550 isn't so far fetched. Also you mentioned pro bodybuilders might have trouble lifting the same amount it should be noted that often bodybuilders focus on muscle definition and size and not in actual strength

                  Did he lift?

Because I tend to think boxers aren't very strong.

                    Wlad does lift in camp.

And damn, guess im just gonna have to find Tyson and ask him...which is going to be pretty hard
