Damn, I remember reading that Williams had been shot in the leg and couldn't move as well anymore, but I didn't know about the permanent kidney damage and lost intestines. Props to him for continuing his career.People who talk about the Ali-Williams fight just don't know what happened the year before that fight. Williams spent 6 months in hospital at death's door and lost a wide variety of neccessary organs. He was groomed to give Ali and easy fight.I'm sure it would be on the internet.
And the Mayweather-Corrales fight was as phony as a 3 dollar bill. Corrales couldn't make weight, took him 3 tries. He had to be helped to the scales by a friend. He was desperate for money and was going to prison for 2 years immediately after the fight. He's gone up in weight 6 months before that fight, and nearly killed himself making the weight. And I mean literally. In the ring that night it was as if he was wading through molasses. Mayweather and his handlers saw the opportunity. Smart, but a no-hope fight.Comment

I would have to say Douglas v Tyson.
The reason being, a lot of people on here are naming fights where the loser was outgunned but in this fight, Douglas had all the disadvantages but he fought a near perfect fight and even when Tyson put him on his ass, he got back up and kept doing the same thing. He was a man possessed that night IMO because of his recent bereavement.
I think another great example is Benn vs Mcclellan. Benn was outmatched but could not be stopped. His will to win wouldn't let himself lose.
These I think are better examples than fights where we know the guy was going to win and won easy. In these fights, they guys were literally against all odds and overcame them. Those nights were their nights.Comment

Couldn't agree more, in fact I said it a page earlier. It was the epitome of fighting the perfect fight. Watching Tyson's face swell up because that of that jab was a thing of beauty.I would have to say Douglas v Tyson.

Yeah, Douglas' combo work in that fight was all off the jab. The shots just rolled off of it so smooth. He looked like the next coming of Larry Holmes with that jab and those quick hands in that fight. Lovely stuff.Comment
