andre ward, imo, needs to come to folks hometowns and stage fights, to build his fanbase brick by brick, much the way the majority of fighters do, who are not huge ko artists, like james toney, pernell whitaker, marvin hagler, winky wright, etc....it also wouldn't hurt, if andre ward, added a couple of ko's of top ten opposition under his belt...andre ward, can also take the route that bernard hopkins took, and soundly beat or ko, big name/cash cow fighters, who are bonified ppv attractions, but are one or two divisions smaller than him...

      Not as much as Broner!

Ward isn't the funnest guy to watch but he speaks 100% truth I like the fact he stated in the froch face off that he's human and he can fail too but his will to win is tremendous! Well to be honest Broner is still a damn Prospect himself pretty much, he is not at that level yet but his Trash Talking and Boldness is helping his fame and it has people wanting to see him more even if they just want to see him lose

I know you dont like the Billy Goat but I cant see anyone beating him at 168 or 175 for that matter atleast for the next 2-3 years and I dont think hes hit his prime yet.

Black athletes cant be stars with that type of personality you have to be the "bad guy".

The last black guy that actually smiled and kiss babies and was a crossover star was SRL. Since then Hopkins, Roy, Evander, Winky, Mosley etc haven't reached that status SRL had.

However when you act like a fool and have a bad guy aurora you can be a mega star. (Tyson and Mayweather Jr come to mind)

Look at Broner. People get on him but the kid knows what hes doing. And what do you know he has people talking about him good or bad.
why do idiots always have to bring race into these threads?

Ward just needs to get a few KOs people want to feel there is a chance of a KO.

Broner is a contender with a champion's buzz. Russell still hasn't even held a major title, nor has he fought anyone we know. Broner already got guys like Ponce/Litzau/Escobedo on his resume, so he's past prospect-level imho.

                      Broner still a prospect?

Even though he held that WBO belt?

                      I get it.
