I'm shocked these promoters haven't tried to market South Florida/Miami for these Cubans.
Put Gamboa, Lara, and Rigondeaux down in Miami headlining cards, and I bet they could sell tickets to those Cubans down in Miami.Comment

The crucial point in Hyde's legal case seems to be the expiry date. I do not believe, unless stated in the text, (which Rigondeaux and his lawyer would have seen) that an "extension" rund from the date of a fight; it runs from the date of expiry of the original contract. Therefore, Rigondeaux must be correct.
As for an "intelligent" remark by another poster, I see no reason to assume that because TMT have signed Gamboa, that they are better suited to promote Cubans than the other promotion companies, who also have Cuban fighters, and, before Gamboa signed with TMT, had Gamboa---they don't even have a single promotion to their credit yet, and, unless they employ experienced promotional aid, it might be huge failure.............
Everybody can't start off the way Arum did. The long-term successful promoters "crept before they walked".Comment

With two lawsuits in motion (by Gary Hyde and Caribe Promotions) and a Florida judge initially siding with the plaintiffs, it's very unlikely the fight with Marroquin will come off. Rigo must be buying into the commonly held belief that Top Rank's lawyers are all mighty.Comment

The Gamboa fight at AC was sold out put that same card on that night in Miami and it would've done double you cant put gamboa in vegas and expect cubans to show up you gotta stay in the east coast which top rank failed to do til the solis fightComment

TMT or GBP? Same kind of beast, but different breed. You just should be hoping Rigo for the best. Top Rank has what he wants and that's the fast street to pound for pound recognition by hopefully defeating Donaire. He won't get that at GBP or TMT. He's not getting any younger. And while Donaire is fighting the guy who got his belt stripped, Rigo can start earning it with not fighting another tomato can.Comment

Acquinity Sports are putting on nice shows in Florida. Guzman doesn't have many fans but he's fighting in packed arenas. The cubans should consider signing with this company.Comment

You don't know ***** about Cubans, last saturday I was at the Doubletree Macc and was packed to watch Socarras, Gonzalez, Mayedo and Barthelemy, I mean ppl were standing because there were no more seats, so keep eating the crap that Arum and others promoters with hidden agenda are feeding you, I was at the Casamayor fight at the Miami Arena back in 2004-05 I can't remember the year and the Arena was full and I think the heats or other major event was going on, Arum is full of $h1t and the ppl that believe his crap are too, look where all the events are shown, Nevada=Mexicans, California=Mexicans, NY=PR, now if they do the event in South Florida=Cubans, so STFU and post about what you know...Comment

Nahhhh we just don't support cheats or dudes who fight other guys 2 divisions lower while ducking a Cuban in his own division. Holler.
PS A 'unknown' Cuban schooled your idol in your sig. Now list your excuses.Comment
