I'm shocked these promoters haven't tried to market South Florida/Miami for these Cubans.
Put Gamboa, Lara, and Rigondeaux down in Miami headlining cards, and I bet they could sell tickets to those Cubans down in Miami.

The crucial point in Hyde's legal case seems to be the expiry date. I do not believe, unless stated in the text, (which Rigondeaux and his lawyer would have seen) that an "extension" rund from the date of a fight; it runs from the date of expiry of the original contract. Therefore, Rigondeaux must be correct.
As for an "intelligent" remark by another poster, I see no reason to assume that because TMT have signed Gamboa, that they are better suited to promote Cubans than the other promotion companies, who also have Cuban fighters, and, before Gamboa signed with TMT, had Gamboa---they don't even have a single promotion to their credit yet, and, unless they employ experienced promotional aid, it might be huge failure.............
Everybody can't start off the way Arum did. The long-term successful promoters "crept before they walked".

With two lawsuits in motion (by Gary Hyde and Caribe Promotions) and a Florida judge initially siding with the plaintiffs, it's very unlikely the fight with Marroquin will come off. Rigo must be buying into the commonly held belief that Top Rank's lawyers are all mighty.
