So ironic that Ali made fun of the way Frazier talks and what not, and than ends up in the condition he is. It's kind of ironic, since Ali ended up being the one who couldn't speak or talk and everything. I could be wrong.

        That's just an unfortunate coincidence.

a KO in a boxing match isn't something that is really unexpected. I'm sure plenty of people thought that fight would end in a knockout. the outcome wasn't ironic to Hagler at all because he thought he was gonna win anyway.

Yes, irony is one of those words that is hard to define because it can be used in so many ways in literature, plays, life, etc........but basically it would be an outcome to a situation that was totally unexpected to all the players involved, including the reader/viewer if there is one. the beginning and ending are related, but such polar opposites that nobody saw it coming.

just to be clear, he didnt beat his ex he grabbed her in a rough manner(court docs) and restrained her(which is illegal)against her will. which is a weak reason to send someone to jail. if that had been me or any other poster we would still be walking around free. and that is not an example of an ironic situation.
