This is the wife saying it not anything official and this is quite a while after the autopsy would have been done. I think she is just trying to save face.

Many insurance companies will pay under heart condition but not drug overdose so this could be good news for his wife and family.

with all he endured in his life he died of a broken heart, one way or another.

hope this true warrior rests in peace and is united with his loved ones

He lived hard and died young. Drugs, motabolism (he fought like a house on fire) and his Vida Loca caught up with him. The only sure cure for old age is a young death. RIP

It has absolutely nothing to do with Amy Winehouse. She overdosed on alcohol. Tapia had a heart attack and probably had hypertrophy from doing tons of *******.

Yeah there is nothing similar here. Neither of them were drug addicts or died young.

Tapia was one of the most exciting boxers to watch, too bad he was dealt with alot of family problems, starting from the death of his mother. In my opinion that was the root of his problems, he tried to self medicate himself with drugs to feel the pain lesser. Perhaps and not always sometimes those are the consequences of the lifestyle they carry on. He's gonna be terribly missed...RIP JOHNNY !!

Yes, the media and pharmaceutical companies usually spins it as the opposite (as in the article) due to ignorance or conflicts of interest (of their own, not the victims). Sucks, but everybody should expect heart and/or other serious problems if you've been taking any drugs in any form (including delicious processed foods).

News Break - Drugs are bad for your heart but I guess you have to have drugs in your system at the moment of death for it to be drug related.
