he didn't really act recklessly against PAC..he just got hit with shots from angles he didn't see...i dont know how that woulda changed things
his best chance is to start the moonwalk around round 3 instead of 7
totally disagree with this post. the cotto that fought pac was wt drained and gassed out at about the 8th round. the cotto that fought floyd took some tremendous shots, stayed in the fight, had good stamina and was throwing bombs that pac's swiss cheese defense could not handle. pac had mad problems with tim. this cotto would kill pac. ko by 9th round for cotto. pac's all offense has sputtered to a stop lately add to that his defense was non exsistant and you have the makings of a huge win in a very dominant fashion by cotto.
Mayweather beat a healthy Cotto with great prep+trainer.
Pacs win was a farce by comparison.
Cotto was older, slower, and entirely smarter in his game plan. Mayweather fought a very different and in many ways more challenging Cotto, but in no way did he fight a "better" Cotto. Manny brought the pain to a prime Cotto. Of all the excuses Cotto has made about trainers and schedules and things, not once has he ever mentioned the two pounds. Manny's win over Cotto > Floyd's win over Cotto. Any win over Miguel Cotto is a huge win really.
How the hell is Cotto winning this? This shouldn't even be close...Pac beat a better Cotto than Floyd did and he destroyed him in the process.
under his new trainer cotto has much better stamina and appears to hit a lot harder. how do you say a wt drained cotto with stamina issues is better than cotto at 154? and pac disagrees with you. he wanted no part of cotto at 154 he ducked cotto at 154 and took the tim fight fight...and lost.

Watch the last 3 years of Cotto fights and watch the last 3 years of Pac fights and please explain to me what Cotto will be able to do differently this time? Pac is a nightmare matchup for converted southpaws...the mechanics just fail horribly...

Cotto was not prime when he fought Manny. True fans witnessed his peak in the Mosley, Gomez, Margarito fights. The only reason Cotto retained the speed was because he was for the most part a career welterweight. Age had nothing to do with it. This by far has been the most complete incarnation of Cotto yet. Even alongside Evangelista he displayed major flaws and after firing his uncle, simply took to training himself. I applaud Manny for the win but on paper it wasn't as impressive as Floyd's.
He doesn't have to touch on the CW issue regarding their fight. It's not his style to make excuses. Regardless, Cotto has mentioned he will not give into weight demands from Pacquiao in light of potential rematches so take that for what it is.
