And that's why I suggested he sign with GBP because they can make all those fights happen.

Yes he's the IBF champ but you can't just beat powell and spinks twice and expect to get a big name like cotto in the ring. K9 hasn't even gotten HBO exposure or PPV undercard exposure. I'm going alittle off topic but these are the things that will make it hard for him to get a fight vs COTTO.
well put, the only problem is that I don't see K9 winning any of those fighters that you just mentioned....

K9 is funny. Comparing himself to Lebron, telling Cotto to cancel MSG to fight him in Detroit. This guy really needs that payday.

The only place in the world this fight will sell, it is in PR cause Cotto havent fight here in a long time and he will sellout Choliseo under his company, sell like 200K PPV and put on the undercard his fighters. Other than that, K9 vs Cotto makes no money for Cotto.

That fight sells in NYC. Cotto can fight damn near anyone and it would sellout MSG in NY "EASY" IMO

I actually wouldn't mind that matchup but MSG makes more sense. I'd rather a Canelo, Kirk or Lara/Vanes fight but it would be an action bout and K9 has enough power to keep it interesting. I'd favor a Cotto TKO mid rounds and another strap @ 154.

I dont think he will get the same following from fans here for fighting K9. He sells out MSG, but he gets so many of his fans from here to go there and K9 does not attract that same amount of people. I can be wrong, but personally I wont make that trip for K9. When Cotto fought Foreman, Foreman beat a former boricua champ, so that angle work for him. Cant see it for K9. But who knows.

My comment wasn't even from a stand point of people who live in PR traveling to NY to see that fight. NYC has way more than enough P.Ricans who will sell out MSG for that fight. IMO there is no doubt about it. Wouldn't dare put it on PPV but regular HBO or Showtime the fight does well on ratings and for sure sells out to me.

But we agree that most folks wouldn't travel from the island to NYC to see that fight.

Could easily see Cotto-Bundrage on December 1st, with Alvarez hopefully fighting someone like Kirkland at least on December 8th. Than, if Alvarez and Cotto win, they fight in May/June 2013 in a big unification fight.

I heard an interview with K9 saying he was shocked that Steward was using strong language (like ****) in the corner during his last fight. He said he's not accustomed to that type of language anymore after moving out of the hood and turning all religious. Wonder if that had anything to do with the break up..

I don't see him winning any of those fights either but that's the only way. His age doesn't help either.
