Mr. Dunn mang,
I was alive and had ears to hear mang. Roach was disappointed that JR took the JMM fight instead of Pac.
by memory which is fading fast, LOL,,,,, Pac fought Cotto , has some ear damage in NOV, and this is what NO ONE WOULD TALK ABOUT:
JR saw Pacs damage and wanted the fight early so he would not have time to RECOUP !!!!!!!!!!!! That ####### !!!!!!!!!!! That made me madder than anything, and showed me what Jr really was. I could never pull for a man like him.
Without shouting all the reasons for disliking Mr. JR , please know, I would just assume to have a snake in the house.
I came in late, I was addressing Did JR want the fight.Comment

DOn't dodge the question you quote. If this is CGarcia's standard for "wanting the fight " it should apply to both fighters equally.
There was no "clamor" to fight Floyd from Roach. If so, Manny would've agreed to the fight in dec09. Floyd agreed to fight, gave manny what he wanted, and manny refused to fight over OSDT in dec09. If manny doesn't refuse then, EVERYTHING else subsequent DOES NOT happen.
When JR came out of his usual retirement,,,,WHY as in """"WHY"""" didn't he sign to fight Pac instead of JMM ?
Everyone I was reading wanted that fight.Comment

Everyone better listen up.
Out of poor memory, I could be wrong,,,,,,,,,,DIDN'T JR refuse to fight Pac but instead fought JMM ,,,,WELL BEFORE any steriod controversy.
Don't make me dig up all the reports of the Pac camp wanting the fight
PROOF that JR well before any controversy of drug cheats etc.......... didn't WANT any part of PacmanComment

OH WOW !!!!!!

Yet when JMM wanted an immediate rematch and refused manny's offer, it wasn't the structure of the offer that determined if the fight was wanted or not, but JMM's refusal.
Can we just stop with the double standards. No means no. Manny has said no twice.Comment

I remember that JR made the announcement to fight JMM on the day of a Pac fight , , some young mind will remember this better. I just remember he could have taken the Pac fight maybe instead of Pac fighting Hatton or Cotto, but REFUSED.
Then all the ****** excuses started up.
What will be remembered is the excuses !!
What will always be remembered is when Pac would give into one excuse then JR would make another.
Ten years , twenty years that will come out.
PROOF: Whenever I think of SRL and Hag I always see the scene sitting at the tv watching SRL in the ring with his suit on and making a speech and knowing he would announce the fight of the decade and laid us all flat saying the fight wouldn't happen and the look on Hags face.
Jr will have to face the fact he has cherry picked his way to keeping that ZERO, it will haunt him some dayComment

Mayweather and Pacquiao are still two of the top 3 fighters in the sport. It's still a huge fight, and will cement the winner as the best of their era, hands down.
They are both past their prime-still good, same as Leonard and Hagler were.
Most people on here would have you believe that Manny has slipped so damn much since 2010 and is on his way to being Roy Jones past it, seriously. That's how dumb and out of control Manny being "past it" has gotten.
Floyd is coming off going up in weight and beating the #1 SWW by a wide decision, and Manny is coming off what should have been a comfortable decision win over a Top 10 P4P and unbeaten fighter.
Sure, Floyd isn't at his absolute prime, but he really hasn't been since 2007 if were being honest here. He's still about the same guy he was against Marquez and Mosley. And Sure, Manny isn't the same fighter he was in 2009, his last prime year, but he's pretty much the same guy he was in 2010. Only difference is he wasn't fighting Clottey, who was a human punching bag that night, or Margarito, who was well past it and stood right in front of him all night. He fought Marquez and Bradley, two fighters who aren't going to just tand there in front of him and willingly get tagged over and over.
It's still a huge fight. I honestly feel some of these posters are just ready to down play this if Floyd beats Manny.Comment

So I will speak for what I believe:
Humble or not Pac believes that he is every bit as good a fighter as JR.
His opposition out weighs anything JR has ever thought to achieve.
His going up in weight to continually fight bigger fighters puts JR to shame. For example when Pac went up to fight ODH , BOTH agreed to the weight ,,,,the thing is Pac went way up in weight.
The contrast is JR didn't go up in weight to fight bigger fighters he went down in weight and found a small , wee little super featherweight and made him put on weight, then to top that he cheated on the little guy and paid 600 grand to put on more weight
this is sick ,
I am done talkingComment
