All I'm getting from this thread is Kirk took some pills and fired his team because of it.

Was he implying that the pills were used to slow him down (i.e plot to make him lose against Molina)?

Wolfe said she would not work with him because he was lazy and didn't take his career seriously....this was just after he got released, when he got mud stomped by Ishida. Yeah he was slow, but that could be because of a lot of reasons, including being lazy. Also he wasn't losing because he was slow, but because his gameplan was crap.

Wolfe was trying to change the plan in the corner and telling Kirkland to do something completely different, yet James continued to fight the same way, allowing Molina to hold him and neutralize his power.
