    Josesito's Gameplan?

So I know most people on here give Josesito 0% chance of beating Canelo, but for the few who do, what do you think Josesito is gonna have to do in the ring to beat Canelo and shock the world again? I think it would be in Josesito's best interest to move.. a lot. What else could he do?

He needs to jab and move. Try to keep Canelo off of him with it and then shoot the straight right while sliding to his right to avoid Canelo's right hand. Lots of jab, straight, left hook to the body combinations before sliding off at an angle. If he thinks he can trade with Canelo and that is his plan, he won't last long.

I was thinking he should move away from his hook? Canelo has a good hook, I do think Josesito can outwork him and outbox him though. I have a feeling he's gonna get into a firefight with him.

That is the thing, he does have a great hook so he has to be careful of that but his best weapon will be his reach and the best way to maximize that is to use your jab. The best counter for the jab would be the straight right over the jab.

Canelo likes to start with either a jab or hook so if you could manage to force him to start with the right hand, it might throw his rhythm off - Canelo seems to be a guy who needs to find a rhythm before he takes off.

I was gonna say, if he takes it to the trenches like he did with Ortiz and Canelo catches him with one of those hooks to the body Lopez is gonna end up folding.

It's in his blood bro, he's Mexican.

The thing with this fight is, he doesn't have the height or reach advantage... So yea, jab a lot and try to make Canelo work and hope his bad stamina starts to show towards the second half.

            Jab & move, pretty much.

He'll be getting knocked out quickly if he tries to slug it out in there.

Let me put my thinking cap on lol

I'm not 100% sure what Lopez is capable of as a fighter cuz I haven't seen enough of him. I'm not sure how deep he'll be able to dig to pull this out, or how complete his skill-set is. But if the Ortiz fight showed anything, it's that Lopez has some boxing ability, plenty of heart and doesn't just slug it out hoping to drop his opponent. He picks his shots pretty well and has good timing. There's a couple times during the Ortiz fight where he threw when Ortiz didn't expect it, and he knew how to disrupt Ortiz's rhythm. He did get hit a bunch, but he would've gotten hit a lot more had he not known how to clinch and counter-punch effectively. He also likes to aim to the body, and has good head-body combinations. Josesito seems to be a solid all-around fighter.

I think the jab is gonna be the most important punch for him, he'll have to set up everything cuz I don't think he can take Canelo's power for 12 rounds. Canelo goes through phases of aggression and passiveness, so Lopez is gonna have to know when to switch up his strategy. During his phase of passiveness, Lopez is gonna have to lure him onto shots, get a reaction with a jab feint and **** him with the right. He could also lead during this time, but he would have to be careful not to get countered. Canelo tends to explode with the left hook/straight right combo in this phase, so Lopez will have to be prepared to throw his own left hook (similar to what Garcia did against Khan). When Canelo is the aggressor, do what mathed said lol. Double jab, triple jab, jab to the head and stomach, then drop the right. Josesito is gonna need to clinch a lot in this fight, anytime he gets caught in the ropes, he shouldn't hesitate to clinch, especially when he feels that Canelo is establishing a rhythm.

As much of a physical mismatch this is, I'm still excited to see what Lopez is gonna do with this obstacle in front of him.

Jab and move all night. He doesn't have the power, as a natural JWW, to keep Alvarez off him. His best shot is to stick and move. Alvarez defense is iffy, so he can be touched. But if Alvarez just walks through Lopez' punches, it's going to be a short night. Josesito just isn't big enough, which is why this fight is worthless. I would have preferred Alvarez just unify with Bundrage or even fight a Rosado or soemthing.

Alvarez by TKO in the 7th.
