Why do people rate Donaire and Martinez above Marquez?

I just don't get it personally, he's top 3.. 4 if you wanna put Ward above him but he's certainly better than Martinez and Donaire.

Anyone want to explain why they rank them above Juan?

Because at least in the last two years, they have wins over Top 10 ranked fighters in their divisions. Aside from Manny, Marquez hasn't had a good fight since Katsidis.

He's wasted remaining years where he was still good on fights with Ramos and Fedchenko, pretty weak.

I'd like to see Marquez, if he doesn't land the 4th Pacquiao fight, fight someone decent this fall. And than, fight the Rios-Alvarado winner in the Spring. Than, fight someone like Garcia/Matthysse, or who ever the Top 140 lb fighter is. Than, call it a career.

'You're only as good as your last fight,' which was a snoozefest mismatch.

He hasn't done much the past few years, aside from getting robbed against Pacquiao again, so people won't think on him too much until he gets an impressive win or two.

They've overall beaten better opponents recently than him.

Martinez and Donaire haven't ever mixed it in the same time of company that Marquez has.

Tbh, Marquez is living off past glory, he hasn't done much of anything in the past 4 years. Regardless of what we think about his fights with Pac, he caught two L's. He beat a past-prime Casamayor and Katsidis who was never anything special. He fought and beat Juan Diaz twice (who had already lost to Paulie before their 2nd fight). JMM is on the P4P because of his past achievements and overall skill level, not his recent body of work.
