The truth is the 84' team boasts 2 all-time great fighters on it. How many other teams can make that claim?

They should cut the funding to the hopeless US boxing team and give it to the sprinters, they could use some improvement now little Jamaica are sonning them.

Nothing about that suggests with the guys you had, that it would help. In fact some of the guys who were inside fighters may benefit more.

It's worth noting that the last American boxer to win an Olympic medal was supposed to be a basketball or football player (D. Wilder), he won it with just 2 years experience.

The US already won more golds than any other country. If we started taking the Jamaicans' track medals too on top of that it would just be overkill.

Wait, the "supposed" best trainer in the world Freddie Roach has been the team USA boxing training consultant? Yet the US boxing team is the ****tiest its ever been? LOL what a coincidence.

Jamaicans are genetic freaks in sprinting. No other countries are going to overtake them anytime soon no matter how much they train. Just like no countries are going to overtake the U.S. in basketball, because it's one of the most popular U.S. sports. But most other disciplines like boxing, wrestling, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball, etc. are still anyone's game if they attract enough talent and train them well.

It would help if kids had any incentive whatsoever to box from an early age.

But whatever, Olympic boxing is so f***ing corrupt, every country could probably complain that at least one of their fighters got screwed over this year. Next time the Olympics are in the United States, they can be rigged our way.

It wouldn't have helped Warren and i can't help but think of Marcus Browne. Alot of people were saying that he was the best guy on the US team but he won the first 2 rounds against Hooper by fighting in a "amateur" style and in the 3rd when Hooper applied a little pressure and actually started punching Browne in the face he completely fell apart.

Wilder was supposed to play as a power forward for Alabama Crimson Tide. Basketball was his favorite sport as a kid, but supposedly the birth of his daughter led him into boxing at a local community college so he would have time for her.
