Nobody has really taken over from hatton at 140

Don't get me wrong, Hatton was a flawed fighter, but nobody has made the division their own like he did, there were a bunch of talented young fighters but all of them let themselves down imo

Khan came closest, a win over Garcia would have made him rickys successor imo but he couldn't get it done

Alexander embarrassed himself against Bradley and Kotelnik, is rebuilding nicely at 147

Bradley ducked khan even though he would have beaten khan and unified the division is now a 147 fighter

Garcia needs to beat a solid young fighter like a Matthyse imo, he might be the one to do it though

Khan and Bradley both came so close. Bradley really should have, it still irritates me how he ducked Khan. It may have worked out for him in the long run, but wow did it feel like a mistake at the time.

Really, Pacquiao should have been the one. The paydays weren't at 140 though.

hatton was scared as **** to fight floyd back in 2004 and 2005 at 140--he even admitted to the uk press he wasn't ready for floyd---and his father did also---

he stayed away from floyd and he knew why---and floyd moved up in weight to fight hatton and kosta and they never wanted any parts of him--neither did cotto, de la hoya and mosley during those times---they all saw what happened to gatti and how floyd looked that night physically and mentally---imo it was his best fight in terms of his performance, not gatti's--God rest his soul--

Danny Garcia is the unified and Ring magazine 140lbs champion so he has taken over.

he was the man at that division that got KOed like nobody else too. prime to prime his style is troublesome.. one dimensional but so stubborn and if u dont have the skills to stop him from doing it then.......

I have to disagree. Hatton had 5 successful defenses at 140 before being crushed by Pacquiao. Bradley had 6 successful defenses at 140 before winning a debatable decision over Pacquiao. Bradley has never lost a fight and I rate him above Hatton and way above Khan so our opinions differ on this subject.

Hatton fought the better fighters at 140 and had a tighter grip on the division. Who cares about how many successful defences a fighter has unless you specify who those were against?

He spent far too long with that WBU nonsense.

So the mark against Bradley is not fighting Khan?

At Jr Welterweight, Hatton did not fight Cotto or Mayweather, dominant fighters who were in his division.

Bradley was the king at 140lb.
