I don't even know where you came up with this ****** crap from considering the Punisher was signed before Kirkland injured, ever was.

he was injured in the molina fight. third round i believe. it was early on in that fight that the damage occurred

time passed, they thought it was healed, and he began to train again.

he aggravated the molina injury in training camp. it happens all the time. it's all on leave it in the ring radio.

both of my shoulders were blown to sh#t when i was an athlete

they heal and feel strong, and then they get injured again. it happens all the time. the more they pop or tear, the easier it is to pop or tear them again, whether they're repaired with surgery or otherwise. it's mostly genetics that make them loose.

kirkland didnt sign the contract as a part of some sort of conspiracy to make it appear as though canelo is getting tough matchmaking. is that what you really think happened?

the man entered camp too quickly after the injury, obviously, but that wasnt the intention. holding a training camp costs lots of money. guys dont fake them...

    lets get this straight..
you think kirkland took the fight while 100% unable to train or compete intentionally?

and finally, one of us is an unbiased poster on the subject, and the other is a self proclaimed "ginger hater"

what's that say about credibility ?

Kirkland initially was taken the fight fully knowing that he wasn't 100%. But decided since he'd be headlining this fight with ginger injured he deserved to be payed for his trouble. Which golden boy knew & should have payed him. But instead they were cheap & greedy & picked a jr welterweight.

Don't know how anybody could actually be rooting for Canelo.

he's a very good 22 year old boxer.
          he doesn't match himself

your beef is with goldenboy promotions. not saul alvarez. i dont get how that's so difficult to understand.

on bscene the kid is an underdog, as crazy as that might sound. people literally hate him.

I feel I have every right to beef with a man that beat up Archie Solis & literally said that he believes no opponent is too small.

beating up solis is separate from boxing. that's a beef with canelo

believing that no opponent is too small is an aspect of the matchmaking, with which canelo is uninvolved. that's a beef with goldenboy.

what's he going to do, throw his bosses under the bus by either refusing the fights they lay out? or degrade his own fights after they're signed? he's 22 with a long term contract. boxers who piss their own promotors off burn their own bridges. rule one of the workforce : dont piss off your boss. for us boxing is a sport, and entertainment. for canelo it is his job. it's what pays his bills.

canelo doesnt spend a couple of hours a day on bscene. most boxers know a hell of a lot less about boxing than you or i. they know how to fight, but they dont involve themselves with the sport as fans. i do think that canelo is sympathetic to GBP's motivations more than many other fighters, but i don't think he's scheming alongside them to get into the ring with small guys.

this is how he sees it:

he's scheduled to fight ortiz, ortiz gets his jaw broken in a tune up fight, and he fights the opponent that broke his jaw. we know that lopez is really a blown up LW. he really doesn't think that way.

he's not actively seeking out smaller guys. he's been matched against them, but he's not seeking them out. he's not actively seeking out anybody right now. after he's done fighting he goes on vacation and lets his bruises heal. he probably doesn't even talk about boxing for weeks / months. that's how most, if not all top fighters are.

Canelos jab wins this fight for him. But, Canelo better come in shape. Fighting guys who don't motivate you is very hard in this sport.

Many posters acknowledge Canelo's potential and rank him Top 5 LMW, even the haters give him credit (to a certain extent). He's rated properly by most, but I simply don't feel like he deserves all the hype he gets, given that he hasn't done much (same goes for Broner and a bunch of others). He might just be a pawn in a chess game, doesn't mean he won't get heat for the one always being in a favorable position. I'm fully behind Lopez on this one, as I usually back up the underdog anyway. But, I want Lopez to win that much more because he has the chance to completely ruin GB's plan. Who's gonna look at Canelo the same if he loses or if Lopez makes it close and highly competitive? I can only use the "eye test" for so long to justify him being GB's pet project before I can't fool myself anymore. Sure, he looks like the real deal. Explosive, has stopping power, puts punches together well and seems very mature in the ring. But, who has he fought? Was he an underdog in any of his 154lb fights? Why has he only fought one true JMW? Why couldn't he put Hatton away? Why does he have a low work-rate, does he have a stamina issue? IMO, rooting for Canelo is the equivalent to accepting and encouraging GB's match-making.

As long as he keeps fighting WWs, I have the right to b!tch and complain. Once he starts fighting the best 154lb guys (not named Cotto/Mayweather), I will shut the **** up lol
