Who has Pac not whupped at Welter ? Who is left ?Floyd has bigger fish to fry (i.e. Martinez, Canelo). If Canelo had some legit contenders on his resume and wasn't just living off of his star potential, then I would be rooting hard for that fight to happen. Floyd has the better fight options, and Pac just continues to rematch everyone under the sun.Comment

Apparently the rumors are that Pacquiao wants the Bradley rematch. We'll see because I think Arum wants Marquez because it'll sell more obviously.Comment

I really think it's a mistake to have Canelo fight Lopez, should've waited one more month for Kirkland. Then they could've fought the winner of Lara/Vanes, then fight Cotto at MSG on the eve of PR parade, what a ****in fantasy lol.I agree. If Alvarez beats Cotto, I say let him fight Floyd. Until than, I don't care to see it, unless Alvarez were to get a couple wins over guys like Lara/Trout/Kirkland/Vanes/Molina/Bundrage/etc.
I'd like to see Floyd take some sort of tune-up fight in December, but whether he does that or not, who knows???
Pacquiao in April/May 2013.
Martinez in Nov 2013.
Alvarez in May 2014.
That would be a perfect way to go out, I doubt it happens like that though.
The way I see it, Pac is one of the most underwhelming top guys and has been a for a good minute. I'm really not clamoring to see him fight. I'm more interested with Floyd/Canelo/Cotto/Donaire/Rigo/Martinez/Khan/Bradley and the decisions they're gonna make. Pacquiao has become irrelevant to me lol. Pac is just....there, taking up space.Last edited by kiaba360; 08-09-2012, 11:23 AM.Comment

I think its clear that Pac wants that Bradley rematch and Arum prefers JMM
Either way, the JMM fight will always be there once Pac handles Bradley [officially] and then Mayweather pummels Pacquiao.Comment

I think the only reason he's been underwhelming has been his opposition lately. He looked great and dominant beating Clottey, Margarito, and Mosley. Marquez, though I thought he'd kill Marquez at 144 as well, just knows how to fight Pacquiao. It's a style nightmare for Manny, always will be. And Bradley, he's not just going to stand straight in front of you, the way Clottey and Margarito did the whole time, and he's not going to just run away the way Mosley did for 9 rounds.I really think it's a mistake to have Canelo fight Lopez, should've waited one more month for Kirkland. Then they could've fought the winner of Lara/Vanes, then fight Cotto at MSG on the eve of PR parade, what a ****in fantasy lol.

Pacquiao and Floyd are about the same they were in 2010 skill wise. It's not the Fight of the Century it was in 2010, but it's still as big as Leonard-Hagler was. People forget they weren't prime either when that fight happened, and it was still a major legacy fight for Leonard and a massive fight.
Alvarez should have just fought Kirkland in October, than return in December/January and fight Lara/Vanes or Trout or someone like Bundrage. Than, fight Cotto in May/June 2013. Would have been perfect.
As it is now, if they are trying to make Mayweather-Alvarez for May 2013, he needs to fight Cotto in December. If he beats Cotto, it's a huge fight then. If they are trying to wait for that fight, he should fight Kirkland in December, than Cotto in May/June, than Mayweather.Last edited by 4Corners; 08-09-2012, 11:26 AM.Comment
