All I need to say is don't talk about basketball because you don't know what you are talking about~ getting a name like Bird wrong is a dead giveaway.

Says the crybaby that is crying about getting called on an obvious mistake~ be better and maybe you won't have to cry.

Damn so we rely on NBA players for gold. Hmmm! I thought we have been the best in basketball always?

Crying? Guy, your the one with the sandy vagina *****ing about the US sending their best to represent against the world's best in basketball, who many PLAY in the NBA, and if they don't, play in professional leagues in Europe.

I guess the US should send in their high school players to appease your sense of fair play.

      • The original question could be true, but only partly.

The biggest reason why boxing is fading over here is because it is no longer in the public mindset. Far less kids take up the sport at a young age. Many get into other sports, others will sit in front of an Xbox.

If we had a crystal ball, you never know, but the potential boxing champs could be working in an office somewhere, working construction or still sitting in front of an xbox.

As for them saying they are heavy into other sports playing as professionals does not sit with me. They could be anyone. Boxing had 10X the interest and youth involvement back in the 80's than it does now. When you add 10X the number into any gene pool, the end result will always be stronger.

So I make a little tiny mistake and you want to class it as I don't know what I'm talking about lol. Shit people misspell names all the damn time around here. I'm pretty damn sure you have as well at one point in life.

I'm not crying over that. I'm just saying it's double standards to praise one domination and criticize another one just cause you like em. It happens all the damn time with any sport really. Watch how a fellow American wins a belt after the Klits retire and you will not stop hearing how awesome that guy is. Comparisons to Ali and others will be the talk of the world. I've watched boxing long enough to see that pattern.

          • I guess it's just a coincidence as well, just like American heavyweights declining at the same time the NBA and NFL became popular, that the best American heavyweight prospect, Seth Mitchell, is a guy who wanted to play in the NFL but could not because of injury.

            All coincidence.

              .
Misspell a 4 letter name, that is widely known to anybody who knows the sport to any degree~

Yea pretty sure I have never done that, if you wanted to play it off should have went with it being a typo at least y is not far from i. A much more believable tale.

So when is the rest of the world going to catch up to the US in basketball, the US still straight dominates, when it is the best US guys against the best from any other country. The world is better than ever at the game and hasn't closed the gap to any real degree.

Or Deontay Wilder who was a star athlete in both, but was to dumb to get into a major college to really further his career thus turned to boxing.

                • It's the character of America these days that's gone soft on Children, you'll see 20 leagues for Baseball, Soccer, Football, Basketball, etc before you run across 1 Boxing Gym, On top of that every child wins even if they come in last they get a trophy..WTF?!..

The media shows these NBA Ballers, and NFL Players on MTV Cribs and all other fancy luxury showboating shows and makes kids dream to one day make it to that level, on top of their parents making them play hoping they're raising the next Lebron, Kobe, or Michael Jordan.

When America was about the GLORY it was full of kids wanting to be the best of the best, now America is more about GREED it shows children the MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of Dollars available to be made and that becomes the goal, no longer the glory but the riches and bltches..

                  WERD!

The 80s/90s were dominated by U.S. HWs and at that time the NBA/NFL were very popular as well. That "it wasn't popular" bullshit doesn't fly with me. Bird, Jordan, Johnson and others were ultra popular as well during those times and even when they retired. Top it off they played together to bring gold to the U.S. and they dominated the fuck out everyone at the Barcelona Olympics to win it. Oh yea a guy by the name of Oscar De La Hoya won a gold medal over there in boxing too. Damn! Glad he didn't join the NBA/NFL . Everyone was happy because it was us that were winning. As Americans we want to be at the top of the world with everything. If we're not we brush it to the side like soccer. Like I said...sour fucking g****s on our part because Klitschkos are the greats of this era.

Oh yea...Cowboys won 3 Super Bowls during the 90s and are considered "America's team". You know supposedly a golden age of boxing happened at that time too.

The NBA was on life support until the early 80's and the NFL while popular was not great money hell even now the NFL is shit money compared to baseball and basketball.

It is a cumulative effect, as the NBA and NFL became better ways to make money less youngsters would take up boxing as a way to get out of poverty, people already involved would stick around because they were already on the path but over time less and less would get on the pro boxing path because it doesn't make sense. So that the best recent heavies came out in the late 80's and early 90's makes perfect sense, and then the fall off after does also.

The Klitschkos being great has nothing to do with American heavyweights being garbage~ it is plain to the eye American current offerings at heavyweight are not great athletes and the ones that are decent athletes took up the sport late.

I am sorry that reason does not fly with you, but that is on you not me~
