Morales wanted no parts of Marquez.

Barrera didn't want Marquez either until he thought Marquez was old and used up.

Neither wanted Marquez in their prime. Too much of a threat. That could've been the big 4 facing each other ala sugar, tommy, hagler, and Leonard.

"Sugar and "Leonard " are the same person, so perhaps you mean Duran...

but piss drinker priced himself out, so Terrible fought Pac instead
Morales had had plenty of time to fight Hamed, Hamed was finished by 2002 and actually a few years before that, so Morales missed a golden opportunity. In trlrvised HBO fight, Larry Merchant showed pictures of the 4 fighters who ducked Hamed- Barrera, Morales Marquez and Tapia, Tapia was offered a million and a half English Pounds. Merchant related the whole thing. He fought McCullough a year before McCullough fought Hamed, Yhen he fought Barrera. Hamed didn't retire for another 2-3 years.

Other way round. Marquez only accepted the Barrera fight once he struggled with Juarez and was winding down his career. JMM waited until everyone else was faded until he decided to strike cuz whilst those guys were in their prime JMM was busy losing to Norwood and John. Until recently JMM always use to price himself out of high profile fights

Actually $32.5 thousands. He'd previously turned down a Pacquiao rematch for $750,000.
In his career he's done a lot of that-turning down large purses. No idea why, maybe he's greedy, I think he's an accounting student or already qualified.

I would still like to see Morales vs Marquez. If only Marquez was still with GBP.

Wouldn't mind seeing Morales against Marquez if he gets past Garcia.

Would still be a good fight imo.
