here is also something to chew on

each of the TMT guys that have signed so far have no management to speak of

    Gamboa
    Dirrell- left Haymon
    Judah- self manages
Dib- none that I know of
Caballero- not too sure but I don't think he has one because he and Sampson are at odds over him not fighting Garcia

TMT is going after a certain fighter alright

    no manager in place

why? so when they take their cut it will only seem like a small thing

just think about fights you wished happen and didn't

bet you they've been discussed at the very least on a surface level
a fighter is a commodity for trainers and managers and they treat fighters like money they are investing. in this day and age where eveything is star driven, most people don't want to risk their invetsment, because once it loses value (see Khan, Amir) its tough to get it back. SO rather than risk a huge reward, they build slow.

Problem is for us as fans, unrisky slow investing is really boring.

No real need for a manager when you're promoter in essence thinks like a manager.

          Lara- signed to GBP

No way Golden Boy let these guys get away. Oscr and Schaefer are way to smart if business men to let that happen and they can put them in bigger fights for more money. Oscar'd promotion hasn't become this succesful by letting other promotions steal there talent.

Especially not an unproven upstart company with no experience and no credibility. TMT won't overtake Golden Boy or Top Rank.

I don't think he should...Broner is a guy that could eventually break off on his own and Promote himself like Mayweather, especially if he is still undefeated when he becomes a free agent and is considered P4P One Of The Best during that time

And I don't think Al Haymon fighters are even OFFICIALLY SIGNED TO GBP, I think it is some type of PARTNERSHIP with Haymon and GBP to kind Co-Promote His Fighters...I don't think any of Al Haymon was signed to GBP First then Hired Al Haymon, it was AL HAYMON who found Danny Garcia, Broner, Mitchell, Thruman and got them on HBO and on GBP Card

wrong way to approach this sir

you could also look at it like

what's to prevent said fighter from getting screwed over by the promoter in question? Manager's are there to buffer that.

ESPECIALLY if they do not have the smarts to make their own negotiations happen

                see you get it!

most of the blame however goes on the promoter for not making it happen which is not always the case

well thats the Bob arum backlash. He has been doin this kinda crap since srl/hearns so people here just blame him and promoters for everything.

Except that the promoter and the fighter have conflicting interests. The promoter's best interest is to pay the fighter as little as possible, while the fighter wants to be paid as much as possible.

The manager plays an important role in finding that balance between the 2 interests.......

All of that seems to be very truthful because we can actually see just by pay attention and listening to what fighters and managers say in interviews sometimes.
