I may be in the minority, but I think Tszyu vs Judah was an EARLY STOPPAGE.....

I don't think it was a early stoppage. Zab was badly hurt.

Zab did the amateur thing of getting up right after getting knock down. I understand its an ego thing, but its extremely amateurish and ******. A fighter should take a knee and ride the count. Not like Rafael Ruelas in his fight with Mauro Gutierrez, but like how Dela Hoya took a knee after getting knockdown for the first time, and especially how Bradley took his knee after getting knocked on his ass from Holt. Those were superb ways, Oscar/Bradley, to handle a knock down. Just take a freaking knee.

Judah learned a valuable lesson the night he fought Kostya, got knocked down and got up too early.

Never let Nady referee your fight or he will stop his count at 3, AND stop the fight.

he got up by instinct not because he was being "brave"

Montiel did the same thing against Donaire, its out of instinct.

Because a flash knock down doesn't affect your legs. A flash knock down doesn't scramble your brain and body to the point that you flop about the ring. Without Nady grabbing him he would have gone down a third time too.

A flash knock down is when a guy gets put off their feet because they are not warm. Doesn't hurt them, doesn't scramble their brain or legs. They get put down, get straight back up without any ill effects to their body or mind and fight on as if nothing happened.

Judah got nailed with a good shot. If he had stayed down he would have been fine maybe. He chose to jump up and fall about all over the place.

The other thing people forget is that it was probably his eyes and the way he was pointing at Nady while one eye was probably rolled back in his head and the other looking back down at the ground that really made Nady jump in to stop it. His eyes would have looked like he'd just been hit over the head with a sledge hammer and all over the shop.

But there are a couple of things that bother me with the stoppage.

1st - It was the very end of the round, and Judah would have had a minute to recover.

2nd - Although Judah fell, and was wobbly, he clearly had his wits, and knew what was going on. His body didnt immediately respond to what his head was thinking, but I think he was NEARLY clear headed.

3rd - Once Nady saw Judah fall, he immediately waved the fight off, instead of giving Judah the benefit of the doubt IN A CHAMPIONSHIP FIGHT. Judah jumped right back up after he fell back down, and was clear headed enough to argue his point that the fight shouldnt have been stopped.

I just wish we could have seen more of that fight, and what would have happened with Judah getting the 1 minute of recovery time.

Judah CLEARLY dominated the 1st round, and Tszyu clearly dominated the 2nd round. I would have liked to see the fight go on just a little bit more.
Did you want Judah to be beat worse?

It is rare to see a fighter stagger around and stumble down like Judah did after that knockdown. He was not steady and the ref did the right thing. The ref could not tell if some great damage had been done to Judah's brain. The way he walked it seemed that something really bad might have happened. I think the ref was looking out for Judah, in a good way. Naturally Judah doesn't feel that way.

If you watch the video, Mills Lane counted to six as Berbick fell for a third time, and continued to count before stopping it.

The same should have been done for Judah.

No, but I didn want Judah to at least have a chance to come back from the knock down. the round was over, and Zab was a lot less hurt than other fighters have been in the past, and other fighters were given the opportunity to continue to fight.

And lets not act like Tzsyu couldnt be knocked out. Old ass, slow, and no better than decent, Vince Phillips knocked him out.

First understand that the referee is to busy doing his job to know how much time remains in the round. Second, a fighter not only has to beat the count but also show the ref he is fit to continue. Judah fell twice but he was up from the second fall down by about the count of 6. He beat the count so the ref could have let the fight go on. It's up to the ref. I think the ref saw Judah woppling all over the place and decided he was unfit to continue even though he beat the count. I think the ref made the right call. A deadly puncher like Tszyu could have done some real harm in the next few seconds.
