SeemS like you mean who has had a perfect record as long as opposed to being undefeated?...In which case I don't think there is anyone... Calzaghe?

I think Floyd's undefeated record is overrated slightly. I think if his opponent selection was different and he had fought margarito, Williams, kostya, cotto at 140, pacman, etc he would have at least one loss

Not to take anything away from Floyd because he's great and has done a lot for/in the sport...too much stock has been put into his record

On its own, it doesn't mean much that's correct. And could he have been defeated by any of those guys? Williams had the best chance. He most certainly wouldn't have lost to the version of tszyu that lost to Hatton. And cotton and Margarito just weren't good enough to beat him IMO and he's fought better fighters than both of them so I dunno.

so u think that alex sanches was a mediocre champ, or rosendo alvares an undefeated guy also ,Mongkol Charoen, ala villamor at the time were good fighters he beat them all i do think he shuld've moved up in weight little more but it is wat it is he was the champ undefeated for 51 fights and for 16 years no 1 can change that

The sad factual truth is that if had fought those guys, people would be saying well if he had fought Baldo, Judah, Hoya, Hatton, Mosley etc etc etc he would have a loss.

No matter who Floyd fights people complain or say he should have fought someone else, especially after the fact.

Maybe. On paper I'd favor floyd over most guys of his era, but you gotta prove it. He seemingly gets credit for fights he didn't take because he would have likely won them ( a statement i agree with) A string of opponents like that would likely have an effect on him, perhaps would have "aged" him quicker.

I'd hold him in much higher regard if he fought the best available guy every time out and challenged himself a bit more, and came away with a defeat or two, than I do now with his current resumè

Floyd will have been undefeated for 16 years on October 11th 2012.He was in retirement for over 18 months. I give him credit for a bit over 14 years. You can't lose when you are not fighting. Joe Calzaghe went 15 years and 1 month undefeated with no breaks. He fought at least 2 times a year every year for a total of 46 wins. So the way I see it Floyd needs to remain undefeated at least another year plus to beat Joe. He has to keep fighting. No fair just sitting there undefeated.
