There were plenty of fighters without the careful of selection of opponents floyd does that went undefeated longer, but to alot of you there was no boxing, no champions til Floyd came upon the scene. But believe it ot not, fighters used to fight all other fighters in their prime and do it proudly.

Manfredy, Corrales, C. Hernandez, Chavez, Castillo, Judah, Hatton, and Ortiz were all in their primes.

G. Hernandez, G. Vargas, Gatti, Baldomir, Marquez, and Cotto were all past their prime-still good.

De La Hoya and Mosley were past their primes.

And as for Floyd "avoiding" Margarito, Cotto, and Pacquiao, here's some food for thought.

Arum admitted that in 2006, when Floyd didn't fought Margarito and instead fought WBC/RING WW champ Baldomir, that Floyd wanted to fight Margarito. But Arum said he couldn't guarantee Mayweather 8 million for Margarito, 10 million for Cotto and Hatton, and 20 million for De La Hoya. Though I must admit, I think Floyd had the Oscar fight on his mind, knowing it was possible if Oscar beat Mayorga.

And with Cotto, Mayweather had voiced anting to fight Cotto in 2005 at 140, but Top Rank openly said Cotto wasn't ready for Floyd. Cotto himself said he was not going for that fight. Cotto leaves TR and the fight is made.

And with Pacquiao, we all know everything that's happened with that.

I'm just saying...

can you please explain how arum was supposed to guarantee floyd 10 million to fight cotto when cotto was still at 140 and wasn't even a ppv fighter yet? Also factoring in mayweather's career high purse at that point was 5 million how is this not outpricing yourself? he only got a 10 million guarantee when he fought delahoya and he's asking for 10 million to fight cotto come on now. if arum can't guarantee 1 billion dollars for floyd to fight pac i guess pac is ducking too?

If you read further, I said Floyd probably had the Oscar fight on his mind as well. I believe Margarito was maybe the only fight Floyd found a way around at the time.

I agree with this, no way he could guarantee him anything close to 10 million. Just like he couldn't guarantee him 8-10 million to fight a maragarito who was fighting on Friday night fights.

On paper he is unbeaten, if you dont count the castillo fight, that is all to cheer about floyd.

You are so boring. We all know about the first Castillo fight that he arguably lost. Nothing can be done about it and he erased any doubts in the rematch.
