Chuvalo has got to be the toughest human being I'm aware of, both inside and outside the ring. He's become something of a hero to me. Despite the tragic loss of his wife and three of his sons, George has apparently managed to retain his charisma, charm and zest for life. Just recently, I saw him on an episode of the home improvement show "Holmes on Homes". What an unexpected kick that was! Chuvalo is now 74 and appeared with his significantly younger live-in girlfriend. The man is indomitable.George Chuvalo's life was full of drama...here's an old CBC short about some of it.
The biggest fight of George Chuvalo's life.

LOL...yeah it's true. He also does interviews really well...I've seen many of them and always enjoy watching them. George must be great to go drinking with (if he drinks at all). The stories he must tell! I enjoy a lot of things about "The Last Round," but in my opinion it's Chuvalo's present-day moments on camera that make the film. He's just a larger-than-life kind of guy.
In the remake of "The Fly," with Jeff Goldblum, there's a scene were Goldblum, as the title character, arm-wrestles a guy at a bar and breaks his arm in the process. The first time I saw it, I was like, "No way!" It's George Chuvalo! lolComment
