By Jake Donovan - Orlando Salido kept busy while awaiting his next big assignment, stopping Moises Guiterrez in the third round of a non-title fight Saturday evening in Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico.
The resurgent featherweight is being groomed for a featherweight showdown with unbeaten contender Miguel Angel ‘Mikey’ Garcia, but opted to stay active in the ring. Saturday’s bout was Salido’s first ring appearance since knocking out Juan Manuel Lopez for the second time in as many fights this past March in one of the best fights of 2012.
