i dont think so, thats his hard earned money, everyone has to make there own living in life, depending on family members to get your money is not a smart way of looking at life.

it's certainly not something to which they are entitled. it's not like chad dawson is making some insane amount of money every time he fights. he labored in obscurity for many years. most boxers make almost nothing when they start out. they get to their prime years, make big paydays against top fighters, wear down, and then retire.

if dawson's brother went to a good law school he'd probably make more than chad if he practiced law for 40 years. he'd work for his money like the rest of us.

if my brother were vastly wealthy i wouldnt feel entitled to a damn cent. if he wanted to set me up with a down payment on a house or school for my kids or something i'd greatly appreciate it, but he wouldn't owe me anything.

the guy wants a handout. gross, if you ask me. i'd be motivated as hell to be as successful as my brother, not looking for his charity.

now, your parents, on the other hand, you owe. if you make enough money you help them out if they need it.

if your brother needs help you can help him out too. but he's not entitled to the money you make getting your face, brain, and body hit by professional boxers.

The chief reason why most fighters, celebrities, etc., go broke...because of FAMILY. It's funny how most of those ppl's family members "suddenly" become financially unable to take care of themselves, when one person starts making money.

I dont blame Chad (if this is truly the case), NOBODY in my family calls me every two weeks when my check hits my account, so they should keep it that way when I start making significant amount of money.

It's worse when people are married and have children to take care of, and family members piss and moan about them "not giving back". Anybody wonder why RJJ, Holyfield, and few others still fight? Again, the chief reason is because of supporting their people, then comes maintaining those expense purchases (mansions, cars, etc.).

I guess I have a different respect for my family then everyone here.

I dont even talk to my sister, but if I had a mill she would get some of it.

No it's his money, and judging by the actions of his brother I don't blame him at all. Chad has his own family to take care of for the rest of their lives, not to mention two sons. And people expect him to take care of his 4 brothers and 2 sisters? What if Chad gets severely damaged somehow after his career, who is going to pay for the medical bills and the livelihood of his immediate family?

break your family off a little. **** money aint worth that much to having your family think of you like that. But chad responsibilty is to his own family first.
