Comments Thread For: Erik Morales Vows Garcia Win: Things Will Be Different!

Former four division world champion Erik Morales (52-8, 36 KOs) tells BoxingScene.com that he doesn't want to waste his time with pointless tuneups or lackluster opponents, which prompted him to exercise his rematch clause to fight WBA/WBC junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (24-0, 15 KOs) on October 20th at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The anticipated rematch will headline a Showtime televised event.

If he comes in better shape and fights smart, he might pull it off... wish him nothing but luck.

Morales beat him the first time, even w/ the knockdown.

Im one of the biggest Morales fans out there, but seriously, he needs to start losing weight and getting acclimated to the weight loss NOW.

I dont know why the guys who have ****ty habits between fights and almost never make weight, have in their minds, that an 8-week camp is good enough.

It's NOT! If you spend most of the camp trying to lose weight, then that's a problem. Rios has a bad habit of this as well.

Anyhow, Morales put up a good fight the first time, but he was in there looking like somebody's grandfather with that terrible body...hope he takes the weight loss seriously this time.
