So long as they back it up, I find Broner antics to be more entertaining than Floyd's imo. Broner just looks like he's trying to have fun where as Floyd gets butt hurt too easily.
So are we going to get a slew of Floyd-lite punks?

I ain't gonna lie...it is kinda annoying. I mean whenever Broner is getting interviewed (or doing anything actually, I even think he tries to fart like Floyd), he just comes off like he's trying to channel Money. That said though, Money May's route (love him or hate him) has made him the richest athlete in professional sports.
So yeah, there are inevitably going to be copy cats. Personally I wish Broner would be his own man, and form his own identity -- but it doesn't look like he's original enough to do that.
Mad respect to his boxing talent, though. Dude has serious skills.Comment

u either the villain or the good guy, and people come to watch the villain battle the good guy. in movies the good guy usually wins but in the boxing the bad guy continually wins and it brings in more viewers for the sequal, and the sequal after that after that after that etc.Comment

All this from some guy that is obsessed with Garcia's dad. Oh the irony.Seeing as people are convinced that Broner is the future and such a huge part of his persona is based on ripping off the Mayweather template - you know, acting like such an unbearable douche so people pay and hope to see you get beat.
Right now, we obviously can't tell whether Broner is gonna be a PPV star. I don't consider lots of people complaining about him being hyped/indulged signifying that Broner's plan to get under peoples skin so they tune in to see him lose, as working. Sometimes, people, boxing people, just like to complain when they see fighters getting pampered - JCC Jr, Canelo, Berto etc.
Let's just say the Broner thing works. And he becomes a PPV star.
Are we going to get a bunch of little punks faking it up and pretending they're Mayweather?
Does anyone find this prospect a little depressing?
I just feel like I'm getting my intelligence insulted with this sh-t. Some little twat running with lines Floyd used to say (apparently Broner is now Mr HBO) when he's only a few fights removed from going life and death with Ponde De Leon.
It all just feels like an arch manipulation. This guy comes in with this Floyd tribute act, and people have fallen for it.
And if it works for Broner, are we gonna get more of these ignorant clones?
Honestly, HBO better be really careful. Because what they're doing now is alienating existing fans, the guys who have put up with the nonsense for years.Comment

It's not contradictory at all, Floyd puts in the work and has proven himself. Even as someone that does not like Floyd Mayweather, I have no questions about his respect for the sport or the dedication he has to it. Those questions still clearly exist with Adrien Broner.People may think this is contradictory but I am really starting to get annoyed by Broner. He just tries too damn hard and it comes off as being contrived, his whole act. He wants to be Floyd so bad, he can't even come up with his own style. He's a talented kid but as of yet he has not done a whole lot in my opinion. His arrogant act just comes off as too immature and clownish, not as a genuine villain type character like Floyd always has. Broner has a LONG way to go before he can even be considered close to being in the same league as Floyd. I guess the difference is, Floyd is as good as he says he is, Broner as of yet, I don't feel is as good as he says he is. We will really see how good Broner is when he starts fighting at 135-140, maybe even 147, where he should be eventually and see how he fares against top guys there.Comment
